To all those still having problems with Globe's GPRS -- we've been having discussions about them also lately over at P800_phils at YahooGroups. Its a YahooGroup for us P800 owners here in the Philippines!
You might want to join the group and read the transcripts of the messages there...
Basically, you might want to compare your settings (especially the APNs and the proxy server adresses) with actual settings that work. Work your way from there (change settings that are diff. in yours, etc.). Managed to solve mine be deleting all Internet, WAP accounts first and using Globe's OTA settings again.
Good luck! |

GPRS is not dead for prepaid. i could still browse wapsites. however, browsing using the internet APN for prepaid users has been blocked (or however you call it). |

I think that's sad. So is it final that the 'free' GPRS is now limited to a few sites approved by globe? I switched to Globe because of the 'free' GPRS. But since they blocked most of the sites I frequently visit, I think I'll go back to Smart. Globe could get some more *ka-ching* *ka-ching* if they open the internet APN to prepaid users (assuming they have a good service
On a side note, I was really suprised by the speed of Smart's GPRS service. Granted I haven't tried Globe's paid internet gateway (but if I have to be a subscriber and be stuck for a year or so just to test their paid internet gateway, it's not good enough a reason for me to sign up =) |

i'm from the kamanava area and i have no gprs service since last night. called globe customer service and all you they can say is they are sorry but as for the reason they gave none. and to add that the lady said that all globe subscribers cannot access wap/gprs right now. to my surpirse i received an sms notification from 0123456789 that i received an mms from my friend which means that my friend has wap/gprs on his area. anu ba nangyayari sa globe? are they giving us more reasons to switch to other networks? |

there has to be another way to get into esato through globe. does anybody know of any alternative gateways that we can use that is compatible with the globe system? or should we come up with an email blast directed at globe to open esato to its subscribers? they are monopolizing and constricting user rights. that is not only unfair, it is illegal. anybody agree with me on this? anyway, for those who have answers to getting access into esato, please post them:) it would be a shame to not be able to access esato for good.
bitmap: what IP address are you using for your gateway?:)

@aspanu
are you using the wap apn or the internet apn? if you find that you can't access it via the wap apn, try it on internet and you will almost always find that it works.
i don't think that globe is blocking subscribers from accessing esato or any other site, just that you can't access it for free. big difference! |

First globe blocked pop3 unless you changed apn now we cant access yahoo,esato etc...BEWARE globe gprs is expensive..globe charges per kilobyte but when you download a page and got cutoff in the middle of a download globe still charge you on kilobyte used even if its a failed download..UNFAIR..in other countrif like UK they charge per page download...:-(..grrrr

Thats right. I have been encountering the same problem since the other day. And I just say I am very dissatisfied with the service Globe is providing regarding GPRS lately. I am now checking Zed and Sun Cellular if they are better with providing GPRS services. |

i think this is the downside on the free gprs of globe we cannot even complain why they are blocking wap sites coz their gprs is free. but come to think of it, a lot of news and info sites are not blocked and as the saying goes, the best things in life are free.... |
