Awesome! congrats! I'm kinda surprised it is manufactured in japan but that is good news too.

Look forward to a full review. Especially with how you feel about the display quality vs the 4K screen. I'm curious if i will notice the lack of pixels haha.

Yes, Sony Corporation, tokyo Japan

Anyway 21/9 was something awesome, now it's an anonymous android smartphone. at least it doesn't have pedestrian areas on the display or obscene holes yet.

Was everything in Japanese when you put in the SIM card the first time, or was it in English?
I guess you have checked there are other languages to add.

I believe wondamobile sells the HK version, so it was probably in English or Chinese.

what to say? fast, responsive (I had it for a year on my 1 IV, android 14 with the famous sudden shuttering bug, solved by google only on android 15). Construction and materials: excellent as per sony tradition. Nice display (even if I miss mine for form factor and resolution). High-level audio. Excellent wide and normal cameras, the zoom camera has been improved on the software side, I imagine, compared to the old generation, it is more usable now at maximum extension. Satisfied? Yes, the xperia 1 VII has brought about twenty appreciable innovations. My trusty 1 IV will now act as a mule after a valiant career. ahahah If you have any questions, just ask.

awesome!

poor IV acting as a mule. haha.

question: how is the transition between zoom ranges? is there a noticeable stutter as it moves between the lenses?

question 2: have you tried the AI camera features and how are they performing for you?

I haven't tested yet the camera side deeply : I still think that the three separate dedicated apps were the right path to take, but it was abandoned in order to listen (as well as for the screen) to the chorus of users who had probably never even touched an Xperia smartphone. The transitions are quite fluid (limited to the focal length between one lens and another). The AI does a great job....even if I personally won't use some of the things it allows anymore. I have a couple of questions: 1) Holding down the center button, on Android 14, the conversation with gemini opened. Now a new search bar opens that overlaps with the one on my home where I can type, record voice by pressing the microphone but not go to gemini live or live screen sharing. I can only do this by accessing the gemini application! Do I have to set something? 2): In the operator menu of my sim card I can no longer find the option "voice over lte - 4g calls"....My ims is regularly registered and active and the calls are in hd (so on lte). Isn't there an option to deactivate it?

so it is made in china, not japan.

that is more of what I was expecting since they went the OEM route.
