TBH I never see onleaks make a mistake...
BTW I've something I'm really worry about.
will SONY cut shutter button from the flagship as well ? If they do so it will be really bad...

I think it's real leaked render, but it's one fo the first variants. So maybe (I wish) final device will have one. It's a must-have in Sony's device. |

True that they have to start manufacturing process very soon, but even till CES 2019 there is 3 months!

IMO Sony is probably just dropping the hardware shutter button.. They recently unveiled their new AI backed software or gimmick where the camera automatically opens up while keeping the phone in landscape mode.. This feature is pretty useless if there's a hardware button.. So seems like sony decided to join the AI bandwagon and scrap the hardware button..
Also.. The new fps is not integrated in the power button.. So it would not violate any patents.. So great news?
IMO the camera cutout should have been rectangular too instead of the rounded one.. It would have looked more sexy.. But nonetheless great step forward with this design. |

Problem is...
The new smart launch is slower than using the button. Not even counting the half press to lock focus.
A photographer told me once that is better to use button than screen button, also never touch screen to focus because it can overexpose some areas.
Who said here before ifa about a phone without buttons, a bit like U12? |

What is the point of having a separate power button and fps? I don't care about patents, the phone costs a shit load of money anyways. For me as a user what is the point? It's not like we have two thumbs per hand... If they do this then they should fire the design teams and the higher ups who cleared it. |
