Thanks Aussieland1, not really much of a enticement And I still hold my breath when I say Apple don't listen to
Customers preferences they take to long to move the tech we want into there devices how old is NFC? And how long
Do we have to wait for a standard memory update 16gb
Is pathetic.
Apple is a good brand they deliver themselves with quality Etc but they take ages to give us what we want
After 4 years owning there phones they also becoming Rather boring the IOS hasn't changed much from the leap
To 8 to 9 that's personally my beef with them in so glad my Iphone broke it gave me a opportunity to relish another brand
Btw 😉

"Apple is a good brand they deliver themselves with quality Etc but they take ages to give us what we want"
^ it is arguable that EVERYONE/ANYONE knows what's best for them in any matter (smartphones, technology, investing, etc). On this basis is the core REASON why Apple does what they do and for a proven track record of ever increasing revenue, profits and user base growth since 1999/2001 you CANNOT argue with that.
Proof: Bloomberg ... profits, revenue, market share, market capital and track this year after year, quarter after quarter since 2001 and you'll be VERY hard pressed to see consistency and less drops than Apple (even Google had hiccups more in the same timeframe to current end of 2015 than Apple did!
FACT: People, non-technical people can ONLY accept or tolerate 1 to 2 technological advances at a time when introduced. (check the movie The Prestige at the conversation with character Telsa. Even the REAL Tesla experienced this in his lifetime and paid dearly for learning this far too late with insanity and eventually his life).
Track record: Smartphones (BlackBerry's, WindowsCE based PocketPC-PE's and Smartphone Editions, S60/UIQ) existed in the mass market before the 4 platforms ahem 3 that exist today YEARS before Apple OS/later iOS was introduced.
EVER SINGLE one of them had far too much accessories, wonkey designs' (Nokia) although innovative, add-ons and hardly anything elegant beautiful or even fluid for the average non-technical user could just pick-up and enjoy with ease! BlackBerry with BBOS the longest surviving of that old gaurd died a very LONG death and was hated simply due to arcane and far too extensive menus!! The system in it's day was quite capable for what was needed in a mobile phone ... BUT times evolve ... people don't never as easily.
The OTHER reason why Apple doesn't evolve given "what we want " is because well upgrades begin to SLOOOOW affecting revenues. To me the iPhone 6 128GB I bought out of warranty vs the iPhone 6S at 64GB had barely any difference. Sure I'd love Force-Touch but without it the system and EVERYTHING I do, want nor need is the same!
This, called Innovators Block is what their facing ... nobody willing to continually upgrade cause the product is FAR TOO Good that customers don't feel compelling need to upgrade!
So this is why .... "Apple is a good brand they deliver themselves with quality Etc but they take ages to give us what we want" 67% of their global total revenue and profits come from the iPhone.
iPhone 6S+ canalizes iPad sales, when previously iPad cannibalized MacBook sales.

And 31 million of them in the USA have NOT upgraded to larger than 4" screen iPhone 5 ... but now have a reason to.
Sony missed a HUGE opportunity here!

Wireless charging ... now THAT is a gimmick if I've ever seen one.
Ok let's ignore a simplistic cable to plug-in, the industries first reversable one at that. Now let's replace a VERY cheap and simple $15US cable with a $45 cable and small pod which 1 cannot be plugged into your computer for charging, and 2 needs a specific wallcharger. Now in the real world dollars and sense boys and girls. Let's now place the phone over the charging pad and dash off. Which basically saves you 1.2 seconds per time you charge BUT reduces you by 5-10 seconds if you wish to transfer data, rebuild the OS on the phone because you need a new cable to do so.
Again GIMMICK!
If I can wirelessly charge the way Tesla, the REAL Tesla envisioned then THAT is when I want that in my phone, notebook, car, Stereo, portable speakers and wireless headsets.
You can call it a gimmick if you want. In fact almost any other feature on a smartphone can be called that... depends on how you view it and if its useful or not. But the simple fact remains...that it works, and works nicely. Not only does it save you time, like if you're in a hurry, it also saves wear and tear on the usb slot. Which tends to "loosen up" over some time. As for transferring data, there's wifi direct and airdroid, to transfer data wirelessly.
cheers!
Saves you time? Really?
.5-1 second picking up a cable and pluggin it in, 2 seconds time saved for say twice a day isn't saving you, me or nobody anything really. That's why the majority of phones still do not have this feature, it's something not qualitatively easy to 'sell' to a potential customer.
Wear and tear for a usb slot, if it occurs in 2yrs of owning a phone then it's a perfect sign of poor manufacturing quality.
I've owned a LOT of smartphones over the years, and I mean since the dawn of smartphones, prior to USB and to be quite honest I'm rough with these microUSB ports. I've come across only 1 phone that had anything loose or fail: HTC S620

Back on iPhone 6S. Man I really like this phone but more so the platform. Next year I may upgrade to Matt black iPhone 7 128GB. Water resistance is going to be a must have considering overnight wet snow here in Toronto along with winter snow sleet season upon us.
Nike Watch next month and AirPods for my son on Boxing Day.
