Great find man!
Now let's dig up that 1080p@60 fps video recording ability!

It is in the white paper. 1080p video recording. 1080p is 60 fps and 1080i is 30 fps.

You're wrong. p stands for progressive while i for interlaced. It has nothing to do with fps as progressive can be 30 60 even 120 fps, doesn't matter. interlaced is usually at least 50fps. |

@amad; I would agree. For instance, 1080p video games doesn't mean they run in 60 fps (they rarely do, at least on consoles). |

i think admad is confusing FIELDS per second vs. FRAMES per second.
though in either case, 1080p does not necessarily mean 60fps as it can also be 30fps, which i think is blu-ray standard (not sure).
so there is no real confirmation as to the actual frame rate for video recording. sigh. would be a shame if it can take 30.5 frames at 20mp per second but can't do 60fps at 2mp..
either way, i still love it and the design definitely is beautiful to me. but beauty is in the eye of the beholder
i am shocked king-james isn't drooling though haha..

I don't think amad said anything wrong. P & I are progressive and interlaced and have nothing to do with fps. |

he said interlaced is at least 50fps.. but in this case fps means fields per second, not frames.

In all the reviews and hands on videos and write ups I have seen, not one mentions the 3x zoom, so does this actually exist? |

i don't think you'll see much of it until there are some actual camera/photo specific reviews. most of what's out right now are hands on quickies.. nothing in depth.
the white paper only talks about 8x digital zoom and the BIONZ processor allowing lossless zoom. no mention of 3x anywhere.. so i guess we'll see

So now people are complaining it has no OIS and no S master amp? LOL what next? it being 0.2mm thicker compared to other phones? or maybe thick bezels? people will always find something to complain, I could do as much to other brands and make it sound like a bad product.
OIS is hardly beneficial to a smartphone, because you have limited zooming capabilities, it is when you zoom that hand shake starts to become apparent. It might make it better but not that much better compared to a finely tuned software stabilization imo. Z1 has steadyshot if I'm not mistaken.
S master amp, is well afaik an amp, when will you need an amp? The answer is very rare you would need an amp, earphones and portable headphones have low impedance, using an amp would NOT make a difference for those. Only in high impedance headphones will you ever need an amp, and those high impedance headphones are most of the time audiophile equipment and that they will never use a smartphone for that kind of headphone and music. Which is why audiophiles have separate equipment finely tuned for their music and headphones.

what do you expect reeflotz? people like to complain. doesn't matter how perfect a device is, there is always something wrong with it.
steadyshot is on the Z1 but apparently it's only for video according to the official spec sheet. though who knows if that's even correct. there are always mistakes throughout.
i will be ordering a Z1 as soon as it hits an american retailer.. in WHITE.. i'm assuming it WON'T come with magnetic dock, so I'll probably be ordering that as well.

nice to hear mate , I want one as well. I think for photos Z1 has handheld twilight to avoid blur in lowlight shots.

Btw, all you people complaining about Sony trying to trick us, the blind test was conducted by Strategy Analytics (www.strategyanalytics.com) who seem pretty legit.
