And lost a/f and flash in the process. Would be a downgrade in my opinion. I know you could say all the new features make up for this loss-but once you get something goo on a phone-why ever cut it from a succesor??

Let's get some perspective here.
This is a phone and its rare that put Auto Focus in phones. But this is also a clamshell phone and have never put Auto Focus into a clamshell phone.
So its no surprise that there's no A/F in the W980.

I intend to get this phone regardless of no A/F and no flash. I'd prefer they were there but C'est la vie...

Oh sure-I'll live on- just with out a w980
I don't think it would be that hard to get a pressure sensitive camera key on the side or like with the K850 where you can just press the center key and the cam will focus it's self and then take the picture.
But please don't call me a whiner. I just don't like the logic of taking stuff that could be there out. It's almost 2010 for crying out loud!

i repeat, its only SOFTWARE. those features they said were partly related to headphones provided and software features in phones

@NightBlade

Here's a link that contains the original themes, flash menus, and standby of the W980i:

http://semcblog.wordpress.com/?s=flash

But you need to convert the flash menu into flash lite v1.1 since it's v2.0 and won't work on most of SE phones.
