K850 got pwn3d yet again in another review and there are still people that have to make threads like these trying to convince themselves or other that the K850 takes better pictures. Sad!
I think its sad we still see topics like this! One comparrison thread is enough! And half the comments arent even discussing the original topic (the norm in v Nokia threads)
In the end, they are just PHONES! Nothing more, nothing less! You will live, even if your phone cam takes great/crap photos!

I like the images I have seen from the N82, the only thing I would say is as with the N95, Nokia's noise reduction seems a bit harsh and a lot of N95/82 photos up close have that "fake" look about them and lack some of the detail.
That said I think the colour reproduction on the 95/82 is better than the k850i. If there is one grip I sometimes have with the K850i is that on auto the colours appear slightly washed out.
I think on par the n82 and k850i's camera's are the same. You get better colour and less noise on the Nokia but get better detail on the K850i. |

awful ?????
its natural colors....its winter you know, what had you expect ???? trees with green leefs and flowers in red, blue and yellow colors all around ?????
if you want colors in this type of country, you have to wait to the summer, or ?????

There are two ways...awful or natural colors...they’ re natural for me in this shot (as the sky’s color)...the world is beautiful because it’s varied...

And here is the translation of the author's of recent photos comparative say (translated with google) :
I think the N82 produced some very good shots in fully automatic mode. The settings are virtually ineffective and make very little difference.
For the K850i just the opposite: in any auto photos are very medium, but as soon as you touch a little bit the settings, it makes miracles.
It would be very difficult to choose one of its mobile (for photo-quality).
Let's say that the N82 will be very effective in photos taken on the spot where one does not necessarily have the time to make adjustments.
Conversely, if we have a little bit of time before either the K850i is really very pleasant to use and photographic qualities of the user will be called upon (it is very pleasing to note that the adjustments made during the shooting have a real impact on the quality of picture). |

Do you prefer like this? Two click on color’s balance in photodj in the phone...in 20 second...nice but not real...

Unfortunately (or fortunately ) in the gsmarena review, it came to a conclusion that N82/N95 has marginally better detail than K850 (i.e 7 vs 6 points). But K850 lose quite a lot in the post-processing algorithm (i.e. 8 vs 5 in favor of N82/95). And this is what reviewer has to say about the K850 post-processing.
Sony Ericsson K850 also uses noise suppression routine, but it is less intelligent than the one of N95 and in certain places it simply eradicates the really fine details. You can see how much details are sometimes lost. The noise suppression algorithm also sometimes has a problem with the edge detection thus removing significant amount of detail in low contrast areas of the image.
So it is a fallacy that N82/95 that do over-processing and suppress details. In fact, K850 is the culprit that do over-processing to the points that details are lost. Most probably to try to hide the photo noise due to cheap sensor and lens but to no avail as photo noise is still abundant in K850 photos.

Well i just had a look at M-R review of the N82 in comparison to the K850 and gsmarenas above statements seem rather unjustified if i can just show you what i mean:
N82
K850
I have no idea wheter it was the photographers fault or not, but just certain parts of the picture seem to blur, while the rest of the photo is in focus and has good sharpness. Heres another example:
N82
K850
So which review do you go by? M-R sample shots show a rather different story to Gsmarena.
