Good job, peter! For your next version (V2), please keep in mind what hav0300e made your mod stand out: balance and quality! we don't need it any louder than this if quality is worse. This is the best acoustics mod that I've tried!

Yeah Norbi is right... you almost can't hears bass "booms" on backspeaker. And when it booms you cant hear nothing
Ahm, you mean the call volume to be a bit louder?

@Master
I manged to get a little more bass [like asah and faurs] but with clarity, which is the thing that lacks on those "Megabass" acoustics

Yeah I can change the equalization a little bit... but I think its better not, cause there's a huge difference on quality between dif stations...

I didn't get what you said, about decreasing the volume. What for?
How can I lower the volume, and be louder than asah?

@TheNerd
There are a few of them... try other acoustics.
You know it can be due to the reception strenght....

But if its K800 users need, I can raise more
Is it necessary?
Please say if its so!

I have made another farfield play.. based on W850 [MasterJP suggestion!]
its very similar to the on V1.1 pack.. but it seems a little bit better [not louder, only better]
anyone wants to test it?

@Xan
LOL we posted at exactly same time! 22:00
Sure man.. that's why its taking so long...
I think the volume will be like this version.. there's no way to be louder with this equalization..
The only way is lowering bass and raising trble, just like W880 on K800. Yeah its loud, but just because its too treblish.

Hey pedrops. I've been using V1 for the past few days with decent cans Grado SR60s and AKG K81DJs. I'm no audio expert, but these are my observations.

Here's what I've tested and compared with:

Hardware: Laptop (foobar2k) , K800i

Headphones: Grado SR60, AKG K81DJ

Music: FLAC converted to V0 MP3 using the LAME Encoder, various rock
tracks and a bass heavy ambient track

Equalizer Settings: Normal

***One thing I've noticed is that it seems the left channel is on the right and the right on the left. Channel mix up it seems. ***

For example, listening to RATM's "Killing in the Name of" on both my laptop and brother's PSP, you can hear a sort of cowbell sound very clearly from the right channel. But on the K800, the cowbell sound is on the left channel.

I don't know if it's some setting on my phone, or my fastport 3.5MM adapter, which could also be causing this.

Now about the quality of the V1 acoustic driver. First of all, my ears don't bleed, the sound seems balanced well and enjoyable. No listening fatigue is noticeable. Good!

The highs are very clear, clearer than my laptop's at times. I can hear the drummer hit the cymbals and it sounds crystal and not wishy washy.

The mids, well I'm a mids kinda guy since I listen to mostly rock (love the guitars) just to let you know. I don't know if it's me, but when the song is really rocking, the sound gets kind of sloppy (does the same on my laptop, but not as much). I can hear the mids, they're there, but I find they're a bit unclear. For example, on my laptop I can hear the guitar notes ring strongly and clearly. On the K800 guitars sound a bit weaker. Enough for me notice it, but it's still enjoyable.

And finally the lows. They sound good through my AKGs. Quite enjoyable. I wouldn't change them. Sounds pretty identical to what I'm used to hearing from my laptop.

As a sidenote, I find Sony's Megabass atrocious. I notice Megabass is built into my brother's PSP and also my old Mini-Disc player. Built in meaning, it can't be changed and it's the natural sound. I take the transit 3 hours a day to college, and I love my music. But if I was forced to listen to music through a PSP or my MD player, I would rather not listen at all. I've tried it before and I'll never do it again...not enjoyable at all, pure muddy ugliness.
Destroys the music I enjoy. Though I would have no problem using your V1 acoustics and K800 to listen to music on the long ride to school.

All in all, everything is balanced out quite nicely. I don't expect it to get better than this and I wouldn't mind if it didn't. I like that I don't have to EQ anything and can just leave it on normal. Which is a very good sign. I'd say the the V1 acoustics allow me to enjoy the music closely to the way I'm used too. You did a very good job. Keep up the good work. I'm going to try out V2 next.

Please investigate the left/right channel mix up to clear things up.

@Jukmale

Yes there's an option to swap channels!
But I haven't touched it!
strange!

I have some musics with that separated sounds... gonna fix that
LOL

on original drivers they're swaped too?

About keeping quality on V2... some have requested more bass.. so I made 2 version with megabass, and other one with lots of megabass.

But as you seem to have a great headphone you can tell me better about the sound on ear/headphones

Actually I thought that too about mid freq.. but as none have mentioned it before I thought i'd leave it that way. But I'm gonna see what can be done to improve that
(besides raising that on manual eq of course)

Edit

Just compared to original... its not activated on both...
so the only thing I can think of is that SE have swaped channels! [??]

I can change that if its really wrong
just confirm that
LOL

megabass has distorsion when listening at full volume (again we talk about the headset, and NOT backspeaker). Thats the way megabass works. You pump up bass, and lower volume 1-2 bars. I cant wait for that XtraMegabass ACX yeeee

@ pedrops
mod the w880i farfield_paly.zapf for the backspeaker as it has probley the best sound were gonna get out the k800i backspeaker, and the megabass doesn't has to disort at full volume look at the hyper_t acoustics i can use megabass at max volume on my w300i with no disortion and very nicly balanced sound.

i dont know about megabass and w300 vs. k750i/w800i. But i agree with the fact that we should use a Walkman acoustic in the k800. Wich W series phone has the best ACX pack?

i think pedrops should mod the w880 or w910i acoustics not the k800i originals. and the perfect acoustic pack would be megabass on bass eq for headphones, but the megabass not disort at full volume and still have a nice balanced sound, hyper_t managed this, backspeaker i want it the loundest it will go (torshara managed this with 1.6), but still to sound nice. calls i would like to be very clear and loud.

calls are clear and yes they are LOUD in 1.1. Backspeaker cant go any louder without looseing quality+cracking. And megabass is ok at manual EQ+bass bar at max. Everybody says these are the best packs ever (pete's v1.x).
So question for pete.
Can u mod the w880 or w910 to be good, or are they same as k800, but they are modded by SE developers. ?

Hi..!
I notice that when i make a call, I can still hear the voice from front speaker even when I turn down the volume to min (volume off). It also happens when I activate back speaker.
But overall It's good..!

I'm using v1.1
