Got my (2) k850's today, yes o2 sent me two for some reason - will have to call them up and see what happened.

Did anyone get a memory card from o2 with their phone?

@ piecan

when they give you the pac just accept it and take it
then like a few hours later phone up again and say you want the pac
then you'll be forwared to retentions and just say you want the pac again and most advisors will ask why you want to leave (the female advisors tend to care a lot more and tend to try and get you a better deal, whereas the male advisors usually don't really care lol) then just keep phoning again and again until you get a deal.
i had to phone up at least 12 times before i got a good deal

@ ghostfreak

i got o2 upgrade
they sent me a gsm version unlocked unbranded
it came with a 512mb M2

Must check mine when it's finished charging.

Anyone not get one?

@H901 Thanks for that. I rang an o2 shop and was told that it isn't £189.99 for the K850i on my tariff of £18.99 but £159.99 and that they do things for existing customers. So rang back Upgrade and explained how an o2 shop were willing to make more effort to keep me than retentions yesterday and how they seemed to not mind me going. He said he could do the k850i on my tariff for £129.99 but that I may get a better deal from retentions. So rang them again and got a helpful chap who did my £18.99 tariff 12mths and £59.99 for phone, which makes it £287.87 Not quite the same bargain the rest of you are getting but better than £531.81 they wouldn't budge on yesterday!

@Ghostfreak

How long do you charge it for the first time please?

@Piecan

Well I've had it on charge for about 3 hours and it states 'fully charged' so I'm going to take it off charge and play around with it for a while then put it on charge overnight.

Oh and there was a 512mb memory card as well inserted

Thanks Ghostfreak When I got my last SE from Carphonewarehouse they said to charge it for 15 hours which I'm sure you don't need to do with these new type of batteries. I've got a 1gb memory stick, is it the micro one the K850 takes? I've got that in the Memory stick pro duo adaptor in my w810i at the moment, so can easily put that in the new phone. Look forward to hearing how you're getting on with the phone.

Are you sure the phone was unbranded? I've never seen an unbranded phone from O2? Or do you mean physically unbranded rather than firmware? =S

Hi Guys,

I found the main thing with o2 retentions is... Don't say too much first person apart from you want to leave because "they" wouldn't give you the phone or contract you wanted. Ask for your PAC. Then you will be put through to someone who will be able to help you. I got the K850i for free, 400mins, 500txts and half price line rental for 12months on a 18month contract. Of which I am more than happy with . Retentions wouldn't even get me the phone for free. So as others have said perseverance pays off. But you need to find a contract that they can check against to get a deal.

Good luck,

Norm

@ Ryan

it is physically and software unbranded
my upgrade was from carphone warehouse o2

and it unbranded it every possible way, no o2 logo for the first menu icon, no o2, startup or shutdown, etc

Ordered a k850i from O2 today. Simply asked for my PAC code explaining that CPW have a better offer and she offered me £20/Month, 400mins, 1000txts, 1MB data & free phone. Not bad i thought so took that.

sorry guys.....but i think someone out there can help me out.
i am currently on O2 paying £45 on a 12 month contract with k810i. i took the contract from e2save but now i want to have the k850i. i called the upgrade team but they said that i can't upgrade untill i finish 10 months of my contract. my contract started on June 14 of this year. and i am really desperate to get my hands on k850i.
i've tried to get a contract with orange but my credit failed with them because i have not been in uk for more than 3 yrs. and i cant even port my number to o2 as i am currently on o2. i really need my number as well.
i already have the PAC code and it expires on 31st of this month.
really need help from some of u out there. hoping for the best.

thanks in advance.

Hi been in discussions with O2 on my new contract, they offered me:
K850i free
1000 txts
400 mins
£20/month on 18 month contract

I tried to bargain down to 12 months but they won't budge (this is with upgrades - not tried cancellations yet), I also wanted to include the £5/month insurance again they wouldn't budge. My limit is £20/ month and don't want to increase to 25 to include insurance, is this wise?

Also they said phone is out of stock, and I can't conclude the deal until its in stock, is this true or are they fobbing me off?
Got to wait till tuesday to ring back and again phone may not be in stock, apparantly their offer only stands for 7 days, so I am worried I will lose current offer and have to renegotiate.

Please help!!!!

You can confirm the order without the phone being in stock . I had to wait a week after I agreed my upgrade with o2.
Managed to get a k850 with 400mins & 1000 texts for £15 / 18 months. Added the £7.50 unlimited internet option on , so now should never have a bill higher than £22.50 , unlike my last £50 one.

Keep trying , I mentioned that I was interested in a '3' deal at the time for the K770 .
I was quite determined to leave o2 as I've had a few problems in the past , its only been the saving thats kepts me.
