OK Dogmann I apologize for my misconceptions
really I find N73 a very good phone as a whole, but not for me really(you know I'm waiting for a music phone)
and I don't think its slow,thats what I said about N70 and N80
and also I expect the N81 to be a little bit slower than N73 due to the enormous 8gb storage space, not because its a Symbian
I'll be glad if I'm proven wrong when it is released because I like it very much and it has everything I want(except candybar form factor, but thats something very unimportant)

I'm almost sure that the N81 will be built on either the 330Mhz+GPU platform of the N93/N95/E90 or the 369MHz platform of the 6290/6120/5700/N76...so, either way, it will definitely be faster than the N73. |

that'll be very nice
so the slowness is not a problem?well that makes me very happy!

if 6gb worked fine in n91i, imo it shouldnt be a problem in more developed fone

the N81 uses flash memory, which will save some battery life
but it will have better display and processor
Boba is it reasonable to expect the same battery life like the N91i's?
it'll be enough for me,considering the awesome hardware

Hi all,
I may be wrong but I'm sure i saw some where it is 8gb flash memory not a hard drive there is also some speculation the memory slot could well be SDHC and you what that means up to 32gb cards.

Dogmann
well I asked some time ago about a memory slot and everybody said the N81 won't have
I don't need it really, but it will be faster to upload music(imagine you upload 2gb music through the cable and at that time another 2gb to your memory card(via card reader)
and it will make faster the music exchange - you just get your card out of the slot and place it in your friend's device and then copy it to internal memory
but still I prefer a thinner device than one with 40!!!gb storage capacity(lol,my old PC has 40gb also )

@icaka it depends on the batt n81 will be relased with, no infos yet. at least 970 mah batt is a must, but a bigger one would be better of course. it will have 16m screen as i recall, so it takes more power then the 262k screen of n91i.

yes,it depends on battery.I see its only 17mm thick(or thin?what should I use ) so I don't see how they'll put larger than the N91/N91i's 970 mAh battery.Anyway, its better to think about the worst case and then to be surprised than otherwise. So if it uses 970 mAh battery:
+ battery life(use of flash memory)
- battery life(use of 16mill. screen)
- battery life(use of 330+ MHz processor)
what is used most frequently when listening to music is the memory. The screen is not on when the phone is in your pocket, and the processor is not used to its full potential. So the question is:does the flash memory save enough energy to balance the "hungry" display and processor?

Hi icka,
I'm really not convinced by this 16m colour screen eats your battery in minutes theory at all. My E61 has admittedly a great 1500 aMh Li-Polymer battery that is both very thin and light and even with listening to lots of Music, Web browsing and even watching videos it lasts for ever. I can see no reason why they couldn't fit this battery and give excellent battery life to N81 or N82 it would make a lot of sense. If the N81 is a nice as it looks in the flesh it will be the perfect addition to my E61 and i can't wait really hope it does launch Q3.

is the 1500 mAh battery small enough? If you are right,Maria and Shinobu are in BIIIG trouble!
you know I've been waiting for the N81 for some time also. And now its even more than I've expected - with flash memory,WiFi and everything else and on top of that these nice dimensions(17mm thin).1500mAh will make it a dreamphone!

Wow, those two announced phones look awesome and the features are nice as well. SE needs to revise their strategies if they want to top Nokia because these two phones are killer. I love the slider especially. |

is becoming a mid-end market company... funny enough some of their phones are still priced as high end phones |

well after all THEY WANTED that
now they have it
but I have the feeling that even their low-end phones don't sell well enough in the 3rd world countries, because even though they show growth in their actives, their market share is still low there. And after the low-end announcement from Nokia,I think people will prefer their models instead of SE's.These low end Nokias look very tough and dust/hit/*** resistant, and pretty inexpensive.
I've been a loyal customer and their fan from the time they were Sony and Ericsson(as many others here) but now its a really hard time for SE.I still have some hope in them,I know they have something interesting to show us.Just respect our time and give us what we want at a reasonable price.
