trust me, its a very good reason to have suvh displays, when mobile technology turned more in the muti media direction. just think of the big mp cams, videos, watching tv.

So by that formula, the 1.9" screen of the W880i is the sharpest of them all, although too small for some.
Is that not right? It also has a QVGA screen.
I think the best screen would be a VGA or WVGA with 16 million colours.

I think on cam phones a 256 screens is decent. And will only advise 16 mill display on DVBH handsets. Not really now. SO even if the K850 doesnt have a 16 mill screens its not the end of the world, besides SE did anounce a WEGA/Bravia phone right? That should be DVBH and should definately have a 16 mill screen.

of course its not the end of the world, but some se fones would have really deserved it. of course u can enjoy the pix u made with your fone with a descent cam, so if k850 would be launched with a 16m screen, that would be a real succesor

Yip actually the K-series was always first with new screens so I guess the K850 WILL have a 16 mill screen and obviously to be coupled with a 5MP cam makes better sense.

sharpness don't depend on the size of screen. a 320x240 & 1.9" and a 320x240 & 2.6" of same color would contain exactlly the same information. but in the bigger screen, the pixel size would be large, so you get a feeling of a blurt pic. so you 'may' say that it looses it's sharpness. but a big screen has its advantages also.

But as has been said before, the qvga 1.9" screen has more pixels per square inch than a qvga 2.6" screen, so really it should be sharper to the human eye.
The only way the 2.6" screen would be as sharp would be if it had the same amount of pixels per square inch.
The P990i with the same amout of pixels per square inch would be immense.

so what would you people prefer? A K850 with 16million screen and QVGA res, or a K850 with 256K and 352x418 res screen(same as N80 res) |

16m colors makes a difference when you view photo/video. There is no point of having 16m colors on a tiny 1.9inch screen as you cannot have any enjoyment watching the photo/video on such small screen anyway.

I have looked at my friend's N73. It doesnt seem to have a protective screen (part of the casing). Unless I am mistaken

Ok I have all 3 phones in front of me, I can show you a pic if you want.
The E61i and N95 screens have no protection, even a slight push with my index finger can smudge the liquid, the N73 I would say is also "LCD" and if presses hard enough with your nail pushing down on the protective screen till it touches the inner screen then only do the colours smudge.

N95 had a long drop today to the concrete with sharp edges!lol glad to report the screen is far from prone to breaking as it landed hard and sharp ridge hit the screen area.suprisingly the screen isn't scratched easily but the bounce scratched the edge of the cover a bit.KBR what is your point here?i know it's perceived as weak but it's not.just as the golf four interior is perceived to be best build quality yet every single one with a bit of milage has terrible scratches on the handles etc! Oh can confirm the n73's cover is bit more further from the screen but i've always felt that the less space between the two the better.THATS WHY THE NEW T650 DOESN'T EVEN SEPARATE THE TWO ANYMORE LOL!!!go figure

Falcon:
Sorry to hear you dropped and scratched your N95. As a minor consolation what happened has given reassurance to many N95 owners that the screen is not fragile at all |
