Just a suggestion ( mentioned alraedy) why odont you sell it to people outside the UK? you could get your money back easily that way, maybe you wont be happy doing that but at least you would get your money back?

sell it on french ebay, you should get all the money back that you paid for it,

@topscooby, what comes around does go around and its only a matter of time until something like this happens to you and it will be 10 x worse

Hi all,
I am quite sure Mike is more than aware of his options re selling abroad but out of interest lets say he sold it to some one in France,
What happens when that person tries to visit London will it still work with his French Sim Card or will it stop working because he has a blocked IMEI phone?
Also i believe Mike like myself believes in a little thing called Karma and sometimes money is not the be all and end all of any situation plus of course the classic two wrongs don't make a right.

It was never really about the money .. I have always known how to get rid of the phone .. It was more about doing the right thing .. something Topscooby seems to know nothing about. He does however seem to know something about going to ground and hiding.

As Marc says, I am a real believer in bad Karma and one day, when least expected it always comes back to bite you on the bum

Seems the right thing is to find out from the provider who is the true owner and the reason for the block, and to take it from there. And who can do that? Not the present possessor. Not the previous possessor. Only the legal authorities. So what's wrong with the two known impotent victims approaching the competent authorities?
better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Ive got to say I agree with koolezt as basically the authorities will be the only people who can legally sort it out for you... You and Topscooby need to come to an arrangement that if say he did buy it from a dodgy ebayer and there is noway that ebay can get the money back and neither can PayPal (if Topscooby used PayPal), then you will both share a partial amount of the burden each.

Also... If anybody wants a blocked Sirocco, then let me know... PM me for more info and that

My sympathies are with Mike.p in this matter, and i concur with Dogmann's excellent posts, Topscooby is moraly obliged to refund mike, but morals are in short supply in certain areas these days.
I'm sure Tobscooby would have made an enormous fuss if the boot was on the other foot.
Mik's A-Z is a wonderful tool but it cannot ever be 100% foolproof, I hope mike's experiance has not soured the fact that there are some wonderful and trustworthy traders in here.

i have read the thread with full concentration and attention specially coz english is not my mother tongue. anyways here is what i think is the RIGHT thing to DO...
just like in any faulty transaction we need to perfom a roll-back which from the legal point is perfectly fine, Mike get's his W950 back and any cash if there is, Peter get's his money back, Topscooby gets the 8800 and the w810 back and any other cash if there is. Once this happens we are at point zero and we can start dealing with the situation...

- Mike can sell the w950 to Peter,
- Topscooby can either take his barred-phone-issue to ebay, paypal or the police,or he can sell it abroad

And if he decides to do the right thing which takes courage and balls, i am sure Mike and him can come to an agreemente that if taking the legal authorities involved doesnt get Topscooby a full refund then they split the losses( wich will probably be 1/2 the price of the 8800) with this solution every one ends up happy and we keep esato's image clean for trading purposes.

Peter gets the phone he wanted which makes him happy
Mike gets the money out of the trade with Peter which makes him happy
Topscooby takes the problem to the legal authorities which makes him happy and probably get's half or even full refund which will make him even more happy...

cheers & good luck solving this problem
