Do you mean no more reboot to improve performance or Kern-Exec? If so, IMHO, that's a most ungrateful comment! Stability is the basis of the whole device operation.

There is ONE big difference. The restart of the phone is going much much faster. And with the Tweak Peaks the phone IS a little bit faster in all the menu as well. Atleast on my phone

But right now i will do the update one more time. My backup did not work so im going to format the drive and then do it all from the start again

Just an advice, use tweak peaks. The phone will get even faster. I can say now it's faster than my old P910 ;)

i usualy have a quite large sms inbox
my p910 had like 1500+ msg which causes no trouble browsing/scrolling
but with p990 it freaks out if it passes 500 msg.
new sms are stored below the list (yes i've it to sort by date)\\
anyone experienced trouble with it?

Yeah, it's faster. I somehow doubt Lisa(@CPS)'s doubts, though. R4A was not this fast in the menus even after a reflash. Can't say anything about the boot time though.
I think I've been quite lucky with my backups, too. I've reflashed four times (1xR3, 2xR4A and 1xR4B) and never had any problems with restoring my full backups (except loosing all unsigned non-java apps, voice commands and some other minor stuff, fully normal according to others). Might that be the reason why I'm not noticing any big changes in boot time? (No big deal thanks to SM Pro  )

Lisa already confirmed the improvements related with the new firmware over at m-symbian
i´m getting more free memory on normal usage than before, when checking via SM Pro, even without making reclaim

I just noticed one change. FO auto lock (the one under screen saver) now works, it didn't for me with R4A, and I saw a thread about that here, so I think I wasn't alone with that problem. Might be a software fix, might also be the reflash, though.)

I've been trying to figure out if the camera app has any improvements, anyone any comments?
I seem to be getting sharper pictures but with all the snow/dim lighting conditions we're getting in the Midlands today i can't be sure.

One thing is new for sure: when entering text, now it "knows' the type of field and the keyboard switches to numerical input vs. letters input. duh...
previously when I was entering the registration codes I had to manually switch the keyboard.
Edit: I am sorry. I take that back. Now is back to the old way. dunno what happened...

Looking at the small version change, you'd think  noticed a serious bug which needed fixing ASAP. I wonder which one of the serious bugs they noticed, we have a long list here

yes, because i start with about 16-17, and now have about 14-15...but this means it is less than before (the leak)
i have to verify this more though, if i get this data after a day of uptime, that would really mean some great change has been made, because normally after 1 day, the free RAM is around 9-11mb
