is there any way I can overwrite a file in the Z: drive?

No way, that's a readonly drive (see also FAQ).

Can i just add to this that i recall back in the P900 days that when the machine reboots to perform a backup/restore, i had the chance to update those files that were ordinarily locked out. I used Epocware's File Manager for the pc.

So, once a good file manager program is available i suspect that unless the method has changed, putting the phone into that backup/restore mode would be the first step to editing those locked directories/files.

Regards

Yes, you could do that, but with only those files that were locked by the system but otherwise resided on a writeable drive. Examples were the contacts and agenda databases. ROM drives were always only written by the firmware exchange process. In addition, what you describe could only be done with PC programs, not by file managers running on the phone, like Swiss Manager.

THank you for your reply.

Yes, i was referring to PC software as opposed to that installed on the phone.

Can i ask whether there are any plans to implement key mapping for the hardware buttons as per Sman?

Regards

I just asked: yes, key mapping is a planned feature even for the free variant of Swiss Manager.

Lisa, can your team create some wonderful tweaks for the OS to make me want to keep the phone please? At the moment it is so frustrating to use I want to return it for a refund.

Hoping your team will create some magic and hope for me.

Thanks

Sorry, but no magic. Those wonderful tweaks require a lot of time and devotion to produce. You need to be patient.

Sure. My last challenge was that I wanted to change this boring signature below to "Singing is better than (Symbian) signing" but then my team-mates said I need to finally grow up...
