You will really never know what the P800 is going to release with until it does so i wouldnt say 4096 not many colours huh?because SE if theyve put any thought into the release of the P800 will have made up for the delay.i mean i really want this phone but if SE havent at least made some improvements then i might get a different phone and so will many others.you better shape up sonyericsson!

I think should read this post. Many people here own phones and still are convinced the features of the P800 are great (I am one of them). But...
..no communication and delays are really playing against
SPV is great. could have released such a phone instead of the t68i, because they actually use that kind of display in their Japanese phones. This SPV is nothing but what the follower of the t68i should be. Not a PDA phone, but a more advanced phone in the same line of the t68i.
I think therefore that the people willing to buy it are the ones that weren't really interested in the P800 as a concept (pda and phone together). The SPV will basically be bought by the people that have been waiting for a successor of the t68i.
Not a clambshell design, camera as an add-on an so on...
Too bad didn't use some of their know how and do it by themselves. My opinion is that the SPV is actually the best sobsitute for the t68i out on the market now.
I am waiting for someone to create a more advanced P800, particularly in the screen quality, because I think multimedia phones like P800 have to have top quality screens. And, alas, P800 has no longer. You might argue that the actual difference between 4096 and 65k screen is hardly noticeable.. But, for the price of a P800 I want top quality. And, once you start viewing internet sites, videos and so on you might soon realize that there actually is a difference between 4096 and 65k screens.
I don't think I will buy a SPV except if I don't see any P800 style phones coming out soon enough. If there is no PDA phone with a better screen coming out soon I will go for the SPV and wait 3G before buying such a phone.

According to what I know, you should be able to buy the SPV without simlock,..of course it will cost quite a lot more here in DK.
I really like it too,...I know a couple of people who tried it out quite a while ago,..they thought it as being very powerful too
About SE,..I think they are supposed to have a press-conference on tuesday,..wonder whats gonna be on show there

thats it, pinolo you are right... I am one of those people who want the spv a lot, and in truth i never wanted p800, i don't need the pda and neither do i want such a huge form factor, but the spv is everything i want in the phone, it is not huge and its got all of it (xcept bt, but oh well) so this is the way to go for me, just hope i can get an unlocked one soon enough, i actually called some people here in us and they told me that they will be able to get a locked one, quite soon after the 11th, it wil be around 450 us, so this is it, i will buy it even if it is locked and wait for the crack people to figure it out, and then start using it.
i watched a whole webcast (over an hour) the presentation of the spv, and i was simply amazed by what this baby can do.. check it out here : http://www.firsttimetogether.com
so this is the one!

I would love for someone in the UK planning to buy SPV to post a review here. I am in the US and will be flying back home in December. Orange might plan a release in Switzerland too. So I would like to know how the phone is...

duh, clancy23
i did not say that p800 could not play and use different media as a ringtone, i was talking solely about spv, underlining that it can use various sound formats,.... don't confuse.
