ok heres the news i had a talk with my friend and he said.. that this shop owner can get p990i i dont know from where and how but he can give u p990i with bill for 30k rupees.
i give u the shop's no call up but dont ask do you have p990i and all just ask them how much is p990i for and see what he says... cause i think..hes importing from dubai !!
as p990i is not officialy released over india so..you just cannot talk like i heard you got p990i and so i want to know the rates... ( courruption in india is very normal ) so just ask how much is p990i gonna be or ask him can u get me p990i? thats the best way to start !!

Ok, now the first signs of using a not right quality for the phone.
the LOCK KEY on the side is now starting to stay where it is pushed , I mean when you pull it then it will not come back.
How can anyone believe this , how SE is using such BAD QUALITY.
Believe it or not but I am thinking for a W950 or W850 if I can find one before anybody else. Wish for me all.THANX

Sounds like my worst fears for the P990 are staring to be realised, build quality my favourite bug bear! when will learn
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Or he could just have a very bad prototype. Check out all the reviews from Michale Jerz to Bengalboy to MR to Eldar to the insiders who got to use the phone, to those who played with the phone at a conference/exhibition/expo.
I don't recall seeing anyone posting any concerns about build quality esp. such significant issues like an easily opened battery door cover or a stuck lock button. |

aafshari, you sure do have a troublesome handset. my one has never given me any hicups as yet. maybe you should have it returned.

Please see what is happenning to lock button of the phone it can even be stopped in the middle.

Regardless of the sticking lock switch I really can't believe just how poor the finish looks on the P990 in those photos aafshari posted.
The edge on the screen bezel looks like the paint is bubbling or scuffed and and the joins between the rest of the pieces look awful.
My M600i looks light years ahead in terms of build quality anf finish than that. This is not what I'd expect from a £500 phone. 
celltech - is the finish on yours this bad?

As an alternative how about a qwerty-keyboard shortcut key to get the the same goal.
Also I'd like to know how often you used the lock key? was ur p990i arrived with an open box? This is pertinant to your situation. and for our perpective of 'quality'. even though urs is a production run, i"m thinking yours was used for testing of tolerances since its among the first off the production line. If I'm correct then this 'lack of quality' is expected since your device "MAY" have already lived its full warranty life and showing the signs of wear.
Pls all consider this carefully; SE has NEVER let us down with any product release as bad as Motorola or Nokia have.

@aafshari maybe you got a prototype that has been tested already,you know what huge sites and companies do to test prototypes,they bang it in every way they can,they shake,they use it continuosly,all this just to say :"Battery life is good,althogh not as much as we wanted.We tried to open the flip by shaking the phone really hard,but it didn't open......"
