Woah, ive been at work all day long and had no idea they'd finally announced the phone.
I still stick by original opinion however. I think its a huge ugly phone that they should have designed to look more like the S700i. I dont like the play/pause/ff/rw type pad on the front of the phone, the ugly number keys, and the really basic looking rear.
Nice specifications, but nothing special IMO. The inclusion of 470mb of internal memory however is generous of SE. Well done to them.
My next phone ? no, i'll go for the P990i and have virtually everything the W900i has but with a smartphone interface.
BTW, i dont know if it has already been mentioned (i havent read through all 100 posts prior to this one), but from that press release it states the W900i has a FM radio.. but nothing about RDS.. ?

I'll take mine in BLACK! Matches the skin!
For those who dont know... Flast Lite - depending how its implemented - allows for viewing of Flash coded content. Put Simply; this doesnt mean that webpages with FLash content will be viewable; BUT it would be a plus if it was. If Flash sites were coded properly, then even over GPRS speeds it would be faster than loading a regular HTML page. I've seen a 4 year coder show me the difference & I was very impressed.
I'm already set on the P990i and the K750i for the wife; this Sakura is the sweet spot for workouts, cycling, and family trips away from the city (not gonna risk the P990i for that.
We can safely say that photogenically all phones (recent) that SE makes are evenly matched.

The radio is placed in the remote control, not in the phone itself (as for K750). So it is probably a simpler solution (probably lacking RDS, not sure).

LOL Now no man is safe from picture bribery! When drunk and out with the boys; when your picking up the god forsaken excuse for a women, even smooching her ... you can count on the boys to refresh your memory the next day when you deny the spoils of your drunken adventure! LMAO.
Damn, it'll be really funny if they had the W900i and you had teh K750i and they get the beasts number and bluetooth it to yo while you sleep, and have her call you the next morning and you see the photo FULL SCREEN!
Is it a coincidence of the Orange & White & Black colours at this time of year; Hallowe'en. lol.
I'm gonna have fun with these SE phones. |

This is a good phone, and kudos to SE for bringing out yet another umts phone to shut up peeps who claim they don't have a good choice of umts phones. SE are finally commiting to 3G seriously.
I agree with etaab however. If I wanted a 3G unit, then I'd go the P990 to get full smartphone/pda functionality (since for the size of the W900 you might as well have the P990).
I'm waiting to get a look at SE's UIQ3 hardscreen candybar versions (surely they'll bring out such a thing soon?) |

will this phone really be available in black? couse the white one just look like a ´baby´ phone. IMO theres nothing really atractive about this phone except the big screen. If its too much expensive, i wont even give it a second look, i´m not very fond of the ´walkman´thing and by the time w900 is out, k750 will be much cheaper. |

a very impresive phone. the black one looks quite slick, although it seems like it would be covered in fingerprints, what with the glossy finish.
i was going thru the SE spec sheet and 2 really tempting features, for me at least, are its RSS reader and push email support (although no details on whether it is Blackberry or whatever technology as yet). truly a fantastic effort by SE, especially considering that it's a non-smartphone.
now, i have an idea of what i'll be getting myself for christmas... |

This is defenitely going to be my next phone. I have waited a lot for such a phone to be made by SE. It has everything I need PLUS everything I want
Drawbacks?
- I don't know why they didn't implement a lens cover on the back of the phone itself.
My guess is that they have been so surprized by the spectacular sales of the K750 and w800 that they accelerated the release of this model, also to have a more convinced presence in the UMTS.
As it stands now, the Walkman line could be Europe's iPod. Mobile phones in Europe are more popular than in the US. Just think about countries like Sweden, Italy, UK. People love their phones and would prefer to have a phone/music player over a player alone...
One question, I don't remember reading this: does the phone have a flight mode?
Thanks
