It is still a great device but I sometimes find it a little slow, especially when starting the camera. Hope they speed it up

I've decided to go for the white Play in April for my upgrade but I can't yet see myself giving up my white X10 even then.

that's the Arc camera, not the X10. I think rikken was referring to the x10 camera, which at times can be dreadfully slow.

That's exactly on my mind. There are so many new devices and Arc and Play white looks so stunning but still I'm ready to wait for something even better. I don't want to give up X10 unless there is really something better. No doubt Arc and Play are stunning devices but I find X10 to be in a different league. Ofcourse Arc is in the same league but honestly, I find X10 looks even better than Arc. The white steals the show for me

Yes, to me the Arc looks clumsy and unfinished (as if they ran out of funds before completing the design) with it's off-centre screen, oversized screen border and uncomfortable curved back that serves no purpose other than to be different and hard to hold! The curved back will cease to be a novelty in a very short time.

By comparison the X10 looks like it was designed properly, so that it looks like a complete unit. Smooth, well proportioned and beautiful to hold. It looks stunning sitting on a table even when it's turned off! Rock on!

I'd just follow this JIT installation guide on my Xperia x10, I finally got to root my phone again after a few updates ago, several months back. Now I want to know how can I install apps to SD rather than to Phone Memory. please help.

FYI, following the guide, I don't know if I did indeed install a custom rom or just an upgrade.

Btw, the New Xperia phones coming soon, Play, Neo and Arc. I heard that Play will be available on the Verizon network in USA. Is there a SIM-capable available? how about the Neo and Arc?

downloaded the settings again, rebooted your phone? are you using the default messaging app or like Handcent? (if handcent try the default app or vice versa)

just a few thoughts.

I think it's as it's said. I notice it to be faster than before, opening apps, etc. it's half the time it takes before. so saying a 60% performance boost is true enough. I took that chance to root my phone as well, so it's two bird with one stone.
I'm still looking on how to install apps to SD card, so if anyone knows how with the current firmware that's been rooted via the mentioned guide, please do tell.

Also I heard that there are custom firmware, 2.2 or 2.3 being developed, but mainly beta version with some problems. When there are stable version that without the negatives, please do tell.

UPDATE: I look up the Xperia Play, so there are two version? one with SIM-capable, or GSM, and a CDMA? It's a cool phone, but I wonder if I'll be using it much, especially with the battery life. The Neo might be better
I think the Arc is only a little upgrade from x10, while Neo and Play is the next level. PLAY for gaming, Neo for entertainment. btw, which one have the HDMI output?

btw, it's been a while, how do I uninstall apps like moxier now that my phone is rooted? I forgot how...

@Big_D

i am using X FX10 custom froyo Beta 3 (beta 4 availible) 2.2.1

search XDA forum Under Xperia 10 "Android Development" there is a thread there explaining pros/con working/not working

I have been using it for a few weeks now, the battery drains real fast, but ihope it gets better in further realeases (i still use it, it's a good feeling to run 2.2 )

Arc has HDMI-output
