I can imagine. I've surfed the web looking for answers, a lot of people have similar problems.

This won't work on my samsung, that won't work on my samsung.

Common answer: "nothing works on samsung"

@Siosal: Something tells me MTN aren't all that innocent, they've got a habit of either blocking certain ports used by java applications or making them extremely difficult to access.
Have you tried using the same application on a while still on MTN?

So I was using a W850 yesterday, I was very impressed at first with the size and feel of the handset, was just the perfect size bigger than the D900 so taking it away from the "girly" type handset.

But then the walkman player while playing music has this flashing orange lights, to some it could be rather nice and funky but I just found it cheap looking, like those yoyo's that has lights in it.

The camera is pathetic!!! 2Mp K750 cam with no macro mode is almost as good as a K700 cam, should have definately used macro mode as a feature only because its needed!!

If there was a reason not to get this phone it would be for the cam, if thinks its only a walkman phone and the cam is not as important, I think it is. They could have shoved in the full K750 cam with all its features its already outdated as it is.

Im just thinking that the Z610 I want to get for my sis will have the same dodgy cam.

Overall its nice, nice cover and colour scheme oh and ofcourse 1GB memory card!

And also btw I also had a Tytn yesterday, I probably sound like Im whining, but that phone is nowhere near what its price is, its just damn ugly!!!
And basicaly a Kjam.

Good review 786kbr. That was the one thing (other than slide form phones which aren't my thing) that put me off getting the w850. Kinda disapponinting on the camera side.

I see SE website is chaging 3 GBP for opera mini. Are they nuts? It's free software? Really starting to wonder what they are playing at.

So much for me posting the other night; I started feeling really buggered while driving home from work, only to experience full-blown gastro a few hours later. Dang, it felt asif I was gonna eventually hurl my lungs out.
Fortunately Mrs A has been a top-notch 'nurse', and I've only now had the energy to sit up in front of the PC and 'esato', check mail etc.

Seems very quiet around here...

Firstly, I have to agree with KBR wrt the auto-focusless 2mp cams fitted to the newer phones. I mean, come on...the W800i, K750i and W810i all sported auto focus.
Now the W700i, Z610i, W850i, Z710i, W710i and K610i all don't have this enhancement...wtf?! Fair enough, the W700i was made to be a 'budget' W800i, but surely not the likes of the W850i et al...
I also totally agree that the excuse that the focus of the is obviously music and thus not the cam is absolute nonsense;(the W800i and W810i again come to mind...what's with the retrogressive hardware on later models?!)...
More like they've probably got huge stockpiles of very, very cheap auto-focusless cams from somewhere and are utilising them wherever they can at the expense of us more demanding (camera) users...maybe I'm clutching at straws here as to why this is so... but I'm very disappointed with strategies in this regard.

@ TeenInvader,
Have a bril Christmas and New Year, enjoy your hols!
We close on Tuesday....

@ KBR,
I guess you must be enjoying the cricket at the moment...

Forgot to include the Vodafone V630 with that 2mp sans auto focus list.

@ da brixsta,
The LG KG320 is only now being stocked by T-Mobile, at this stage available through a brand new chain store called fonehouse. ( The smell of the new store's fresh PVA paint still strongly permeating the air).

@ Francois,
Ja nee, it's amazing how much the net has become part of our lives.
Taking any pics inbetween the fieldwork?
Any developments regarding the stamp cd? I heard the classic 80's band 'Frankie Goes To Hollywood' on the radio earlier, playing their song Two Tribes.
Made me think of a possible title for your stamp cd... 'Francois Goes To Sokkiewood'...
BTW, have you checked out http://www.mio.co.za ? (Music Industry Online)

it's been one of those weekends when everything happens in slowmo... Time seems to stand still, quite nice really.

Gastro really aint high on my list of must-haves either, Wanqa. Can't stand that sh!t, lol, so we always keep Imodium and Loperamide on hand. Hope you're feeling better now boet, it IS Saturday after all, hopefully you're well enough to get that braai going.

We're out at the beachfront, it's the Opening of the Season fireworks display. Finding parking is a major hassle, literally everyone and his brother all converge on this area. We're at the coffee shop right now, and will be taking stroll down to the display later. Will try to post some pix.

@ Kryptik,
Yup, I'm on the mend; so is the downstairs toilet. We're actually giving the braaing a skip tonight, even though it's another mild UK December Saturday.
It's been quite a few years since I last had gastro, and it sure as hell moered me on Thursday night.
I remember the Opening of the Season festivities along Humewood and Summerstrand. I suppose the traffic situation isn't helped by the big golf tournament going on in Humewood at the moment.
BTW, does Happy Valley still exist or is it 're-developed'? I'm sure you remember it being quite a 'jol-spot' before it became a bit more notorious..
