@Angelgirl: check pm

Guys, whats the 'in' mobile device of choice these days? Not too long ago it was the P1, then the mogul and then the i780. Which one is it these days?
G900i is being sold for N63k at DSCL, but the reviews I read about the phone are not encouraging at all

@amby: The i780 is yet to be unseated :D. But the Nokia E71 is a great device that's hot on the market at the moment. The mobility team at my place of work are agreed though that the i780 pips it. But honestly, that doesn't take any shine off that excellent device. Brym mentioned playing with it or something of the sort a short while ago.

@2tek: You need to have a qualified engineer/technician have a look at your unit. The issue sounds way above the little I know.

@Oluyom: It seems you're sold on WM now, gotten used to the frequent restarts? or has Microsoft sorted that issue out

Yeah, I held the Nokia E71 briefly and scored it high on design; it is too light, too slim and too cute to be tagged a business phone. Nokia outdid themselves.
My only beef with the E71 is the small 2.3" screen. With the Samsung i780, the multimedia features appear too average...don't blame me, I have been spoilt by the P1's better camera, FM radio and the modded Walkman 3.0.
My eyes for upgrading are on the feature-rich Samsung Omnia WM6.1 device; the HTC Diamond killer.
Waiting for the price to drop to my level is really going to be a long wait and a very big test of my patience.

@amby: I'm pretty impressed with WM. Oh, the restarts are still needed every now and then when one toys with the settings and the phone freezes. There are also a few other niggles too. Like Symbian, very far from perfect.

MTN gprs has been down for almost a wk, hence my disappearance.

EARNEST DOES IT AGAIN!!!!
exec vc of ncc earnest ndukwe has always been a bit of a clown to me in the way he makes policies which are redundant, leaving the telecomms industry stagnant. but with this new "sim registration" he has put another big feathe in his clown hat.

just as scrapping the 6-3-3-4 system to a 9-3-4 system wont make any changes, this registration wont, except from money to be embezzled in the guise of symposiums, committees, ad campaigns etc.

MTN Launched its hyconnect fixed wireless services in Ibadan last week at a monthly access fee of N20,000 and I just asked myself, what are these people smoking?

How many Nigerians can afford to put down 20,000 monthly for "internet access and voice"?

We seem to be going back to the era where phones and internet services are not for the "poor"?
