Does anyone know which gsm carrier will launch this phone first in the u.s. (t-mobile, cingular, at&t)? also, will SE launch a 'u.s.' version (like the 616) with gsm 850 and 1900? |

It'll be a while before SE would release a US version (with 850mhz). If and when they do, it'll probably be about the same time when the S700 (900/1800/1900) is gonna be released. |

That price IS from a distributor called Itegra. You will have to multiply it with 1,24 to get the norwegian MVA (sales tax/VAT). It's DAMN expensive if you ask me. Itegra "sells" their stock to shops...
This I don't really understand, because the K700 sells for 2713 NOK inkluding mva/vat at www.pcutstyr.no and their delivery date is 21.06.04...... Somebody is making TOO much off this phone or somebody is bleeding too much.

its based on a comment to a customer in a phones4u shop... I would not give that any credence whatsoever
I had been to Phones4u in Edinburgh, Scotland yesterday and speaking to theirs sales advisor about release dates of K700 in UK. He told me that during his last meeting with their Sony Ericsson dealer they been told that Sony is reshuffling the release dates of K700 (suppose to be out next month) due to some technical problems with the phone and it’s been rearranged to a September release.

All i can say is this....if SE plans to delay it till september when clearly the phone is ready to be sold, they better add an extra MP cam and a MS duo pro slot and call it the t700 (t650) lol
can't wait till we have chips implanted in our brains and the size issue goes back to being something else. |

I will be surprised and impressed if orange release in may they usually ticke ages testing their phones first-god knows why? If they do delay release till sept se better make improvements, i can't see a mp camera added but there's space for a memory slot.

well i really can't see why the heck would it be delayed, i mean almost every respectable site had a k700 for reviews.....
unless there's something very wrong with it but if this is correct then i reckon that they are not going to add anything, maybe only change a name and sell it as t330 |

For me its a choice between Orange, T-mobile or O2. Id prefer a k700 on O2 ( as O2 dont lock their phones ) as i use my current O2 sim card the most than my older Orange and T-mobile sims. O2 also give me a better service than the others ever did - they even reply when i send them an email to tech support.
If i cant get it on O2, it looks like being one of the others. I'll end up having to fork out money to have it unlocked.
I dont think Orange will be the first, they tend to lag behind the other networks as they tamper with the phones original firmware before its sold, in order to make you have to go to Orange to have the firmware updated in the future. Those Orange B*ast*rds !
