I had the X10 and after that all the phones I got were unlocked. I am able to keep my unlimited data plan because I get a corporate discount on my AT&T bill. I also get a 10 to 20% discount on all purchases at the official Sony online store.
Nice commercial.
what the hell. i get a corp discount too. but they saw no problem in just yanking my unlimited data plan out from under me. the moment they picked up the x10 and recognized it in their system, they pushed me to the 2gb plan with no warning. after 13 years of service, i expected better. i've always been comfortable and confident that i'd have signal with AT&T, which is why i've always stayed with them. but i have friends with tmobile and they don't seem to complain, so i'll give it a try. worst case, i'll be back to AT&T in 6 months heh
I guess I got lucky then, kept my unlimited data when switched to the X10 back then and when I got the ion they switched me to an unlimited LTE, they just charged me an extra $5 on my data pan when I switched to the X10...no corporate discount or anything like that...just the same old plan from way back with 2 lines

lucky you. i just got shafted then. oh well.
on a side note.. iphone 5s is apple's usual diatribe of "revolutionary" new features..
i think their goal is to make it shinier each new design. people like shiny things.

Now I'm actually very interested in seeing a comparison between the new iPhone 5S with the Z1. |

Well slight off topic but,
@Shotokan: iPhone 5S available in Japan NTT Docomo for the first time on 20 Sept. Docomo better had not give the iPhone the advantage. The Fall Winter collection should be released with the iPhone, so that the Z1 won't lose out to it. |

android authority G2 VS Z1
http://www.androidauthority.c[....]z1-vs-lg-g2-quick-look-266308/
"Sony’s Xperia Z1 features an impressive 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with Triluminos and X-Reality technology. The screen is capable of 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, rated at a whopping 440 ppi. The Xperia Z1 has great viewing angles, and the colors really pop out. The brightness levels is also really impressive in this handset."
Wrap Up
It goes without saying, the Sony Xperia Z1 is a wicked device — perhaps one of the best devices we’ve seen in the Android realm in years. With a Snapdragon 800 processor and a stunning 20.7-megapixel sensor, it’s going to be really hard to pass this one up."
p.s.
xperia z1 supports SteadyShot! witch is according to Wikipedia, is hardware stabilization + to the software one!

Sponse - i got the info direct from sony itself they have several types of steadyshot, so it's unclear which type the Z1 uses. The bottom line is that all types are a type of hardware stabilization.
admad - i can't figure out which camp you're on but it's common for review sites, especially lesser known sites, to make mistakes when giving specs about devices. I've seen one where it says the Z1 has a G sensor in it, which is completely wrong. What is true, is what's in the white paper and on the sony website, which states that the Z1 has Sony's SteadyShot technology. If you google this tech, you'll see that it is indeed a form of hardware image stabilization (or OIS). So, all those bitching and moaning that Z1 doesn't have OIS need only do a little research to educate themselves before criticizing sony and/or the Z1.

I know it's common to make mistake, but this was a misunderstanding. Sony never used Super AMOLED so anyone who wrote that should automatically think, wait a minute, Sony doesn't use AMOLED display, their viewing angle always sucked. It's like writing about iPhone "iPhone has a stunning 5" Full HD display" But nevermind about it, just a funny mistake I made fun of, big deal...
Can You point exactly where Sony said Z1 has SteadyShot technology? I looked for it at the announcement but no luck. And the truth is, if Z1 had OIS, Sony would surely brag about it EVERYWHERE, it's 100% sure. Hell they brag about BIONZ chip for mobile, which does practically the same thing as Noname chips used by Samsung, LG or HTC... |

The Sony Xperia Z1 has a 1/2.3“ sensor, Apple have said the New (same) iPhone 5s has a new larger sensor does anyone know if the new sensor is the same size as the Z1 and are Sony still manufacturing the camera
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

Apple said 15% larger sensor area! The new module includes a five-element, Apple-designed lens with f/2.2 aperture and -- this is important -- a 15 percent larger active sensor area to help cut down on noise.
The iPhone 5 had 1/3.2".
The 1/2.3" sensor would not fit in the iPhone body.

@xperiajunkie - the fact that apple didn't make a big deal out of the size of the sensor at the press conference should tell you that it's not the same size or larger than the Z1. If it was something worth bragging about, they would have. it's safe to say it's probably larger than the old 8mp sensor, but not 1/2.3". but, we'll find out when someone takes it apart and since the sensor size is a big trending spec right now, someone will figure it out at some point.
@admad - the white paper states "image stabilization" and the website states "SteadyShot". http://www.sonymobile.com/glo[....]nes/xperia-z1/features/#camera
