It should automatically just mount when you plug it into your mac, it will show up on your desktop.

Presumably it's USB 2.0? How is it formatted? FAT32 or NTFS? I might be right in saying the Mac can read FAT32 disks ok, but I'm not sure about NTFS.
If you still have your PC handy, it may be quicker to turn Windows sharing on on the Mac, and connect to the Mac via ethernet from the PC and copy the files over.

If you plan to use it solely on the Mac it would be better to be Mac-formatted. The Mac disk format is more efficient than the Windows format. However, reformatting won't help you with transferring the files that are on it.
If you open the Mac Disk Utility application, does the drive show up on the left-hand side in there? If so, try clicking on the partition or drive and click the mount button at the top.

Just been doing a bit of research into your USB drive not mounting issue... it appears there may be a bug in Mac OS X 10.4.10 which affects the mounting of many USB devices. It might be that... Mac OS X 10.4.11 is currently in testing and could be released anytime...

What are your thoughts on the keyboard now you've had chance to play?
I definitely like the look and feel. Initially I found I was missing letters out sometimes while typing, but have since found that it needs a slightly different kind of press to the older keyboards and now am typing like a 2-fingered pro!
I'm really impressed with the in-built speakers. For their size and positioning they really crank out some decent sound. In fact I've ditched the JBL Duet speakers I had on my old eMac and just use the in-built ones now. The JBLs are downstairs plugged in to the iPod dock and remote.
Windows Vista runs fine through Parallels too.

to be honnest it grew on me when found out it had a bit of debth to it not just a small metal slip.
I quite liked it although the fact the famous apple key has gone is a bit gey, but I guess they want pc users to use it to so they have bigger sales. It must be the smallest keyboad on the market.
Typing was easy but as I can touch type on almost all mac keyboards as I think I have used or owned most models I didnt find it very surprising.
Overall I think its a kracking bit of kit, I think that when I move into my house in a few weeks I may buy myself a late bday pressie lol
Shame that hd is so nice ugly, if it wasnt Id buy it...

Are you able to install Parralles? If so install winxp on your mac boot into winxp and see if your drive mounts. If it does then you in luck as you can then drag your stuff into mac no problem. If you need any helping gettin up and running pm me.

Ok dudes its finally mounted after loads of trys.
I have to say this imac is great i'll never be going back to a pc for a personal machine, I'm loveing my mac to much, lol
like jools i've had the same problem with missing out letters on the new keyboard, but i'm sure i'll get used to it in time.
Oh is there anyway i can always make apps open up and fill the whole screen? as i prefer it that way and its a bit of a pain having to drag them to fill the screen everytime.

Apps filling the whole screen? The green bitton in the top left of each window will maximise the current window, but depending on the application won't always fill the whole screen. That's basically one of the fundamental differences between Macs and PCs. On a Mac you can easily switch between apps just by clicking the visible windows.
Personally I've always disliked the PC way of having every app full-screen. I mean, what's the point in having a nice big display if you fill it with just one app? Most apps don't need full-screen.
Below is what my current screen looks like with Transmission made full-screen:
all that wasted space!!
Now, here's how I normally have my screen:
Much better use of the available space. I can post to Esato, whilst keeping an eye on my mail (both Apple Mail and Gmail), my torrent downloads, my Safari downloads and my iChat buddies.
It's far more efficient because you don't have to constantly switch between full-screen apps just see something. The Mac OS is much more multi-tasking orientated OS than WIndows.
I frequently have a dozen apps or more open at the same time (currently 9).
But anyway, if you really do like full(ish)-screen, try one of these:

might do something like what you want.

Jools - Heres a bit of gold for you. I am missing lots of pictures from my i-photo libary. I have no idea where they have gone, but basically the whole 1st half of my uni year. I want to rebuild my iphoto libary to try to restore these. How do I do it?
I know you posted somewhere here before, but im not sure where
