I love the colour schemes and the OLED display but absolutely hate cheap-ass tricks like VGA cams and STN screens.

1.3 megpixel cams across the whole range of low-end phones would be good with good resolution equal to that of the K700...that's the least they can do.

256k screens in all mid-end phones- I think they've already done that.

16 Million colour screens in all high-end models like W950/P990/M600.

@francoislr, I've used a Symbian phone before, and have tried both Opera Mini as well as Opera for Symbian on it (Opera Mini can be used on Symbian phones too). Anyway, my version of Opera Mini 3 downloaded through wap from mini.opera.com hasn't given me any problems. Could it be because you're both using the modded version as well as the original Opera Mini 3?

@ deluded, maybe, but i highly doubt it as i had other apps affected as well. Opera 3 seems like opera with a higher number, but worse connectivity. 3 worked for like one 15 minute usage and then never again. Id rather have my Jack Sparrow version since it has 10times more functionality despite the number being 1.78 less then version 3:) lol! If it aint broke, why fix it? My only complaint with my version-it dont look as good as version 2and up. But hey, at least i can write a mouth full in it. 2 had a retarded cut-off for post lengths. 3 seemed to be the saviour there, but it is not.oh well...

Ps. It is anything but house though. Had a friend hear my track and he said i should do house. So i said: 'you are only saying that because you are indian and like house':) lol! I think i should start catering for black and indian people with my music. They are the big market:) but then again, i make music, regardless of who likes it.

I am highly considering to bring out one of these afrikaans stamp cds. There is money in that, and i could do with some money. Of course, i would never put my name on a cd like that...my ego and reputation would take a nose dive with people with good taste in music...

These days i listen to a lot of acid jazzy/housy/loungy/dancy type fusion sounds. My favourite is some unnamed Ministry of Sound Chillout session cd. My word, the tracks are just so smooth, and they soothe me, and usually only Enya does that...

This evening something weird happened...my ex girlfriend moved to Jozi last week and we're still friends.

She couldn't connect her DVD player to her tv (I know, she needs a brain transplant) so she gave me a video call and for almost twenty minutes I had to show her which AV cables to connect for the thing to work...it was hilarious for me but very serious for her because she badly wanted to watch a DVD.

ROLMAO...what, would you call it Bok Drol/Jol Treffers Volume 1?

I've got quite an ecclectic taste in music...from the heaviest undeground hiphop to some soothing jazz sounds and some house music in between.

@ Francois,
Oh no..no...don't give in to the dark Sith Lords of Stamp, albeit in the name of fame and fortune...
Now where's psycho...

@ Brixster,
That's the first practical, worthwhile use of video calling that I've heard about for some time. Good lateral thinking on her part too.
Off-topic, this was on The Beeb's site today and further verifies the info you've mentioned already, re KP:

BTW, I can hardly believe how England threw away that game yesterday; it's almost too bad to be true.

And another thing; what do you think of Arrested Development? Eish, they play 'Everyday People' ('People Everyday'?) so often on the radio, but I ain't complaining, as it's so damn catchy...can't help but stretch out the vocals in the chorus.
But it was their iconic Mr Wendal that first introduced me to the group back in the '90's, and the song remains one of my faves within this genre.

@francoislr, I guess you're right, if Opera Mini's giving you problems, it's probably not worth the upgrade. Have you tried uninstalling it? Do you still experience problems after that?

@ wanqa, getting fame from stamp? Won't happen! Fortune, definately! Dont worry, if i ever do such a thing, no-one will know about it. It will just be another be on the pack. The only give-away would perhaps be that it will actually have good production behind it. Crap music or not, when you make music, production has to be good:) so i will keep on contemplating the dark side...the studio i used to work at, its owner made the first afrikaans stamp cd. He is english through and through...you gotta do what will bring in the money, even if it is potjiekos treffers...

Quick question: anyone know of a bottom of the range contract on whichever network that you can get the m600i on? Something like family topup or anything. My brother seems interested. Asked me to find out. So out into the world again today. Finishing an alarm installation today. Only in my job would you work on a help file for an application and install an alarm thursday:) keeps it interesting....

@ deluded
i uninstalled version 3 and the problem went away

@ amawanqa
That song brings back so many memories! It really did much to change the way many of my peers thought-

...Here, have a dollar,
in fact no brotherman here,
have two
Two dollars means a snack for
me,
but it means a big deal to you...

...Now that I know him, to give
him money isn't charity
He gives me some knowledge, I
buy him some shoes...

...Civilization, are we really
civilized, yes or no ?
Who are we to judge ?
When thousands of innocent
men could be brutally enslaved
and killed over a racist grudge
Mr.Wendall has tried to warn us
about our ways
but we don't hear him talk
Is it his fault when we've gone
too far,
and we got too far, cause on
him we walk...
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

Those lyrics are brilliant...

Anyway, about the opera mini thing: i uninstalled it, and my version still had crap, even being severely discoloured(the bar at the bottom was a gradient red to white-it looked diseased) i eventually took it off and put it on again. After that, all smooth sailing:)

Well I think doing a course like that would be worth it, but only because I've always wanted to do something like that, and seeing that it's a specialised field, I can imagine the pay is more than enough to cover the initial expense.

And as for the Z310, it's a clamshell , need i say more.

Hmm I wonder when phones are going to come out with 24/32-bit displays.

@francoislr
Honestly if you make a Bok Drol/Jol Treffers CD I will personally hunt you down and kill you, the last thing we need is another treffers CD!

I think you can get the M600 on weekender everyday.

Has anyone seen the new James Bond? It was almost like I sat down to watch a Sony Ericsson advert.

Really enjoyed the new Bond movie. Lot of SE phones. K800 and m600 obviously, but also a w810 and a k700 amongst others.

Was a really great film overall though. Quite gritty. Definetly better than most.

Have you guys seen the SAS training and selection methods?

A hike with a couple of kgs of equipment, then a 12km run that has to done in an hour.

Then they are put in the jungle for weapons and combat training with live ammo.

Then they are put somwhere obscure with the bare necessaties and have to survive for a week while being tracked by pros.

Then after the week they are tortured mentally and physically.

Only between 2 and 7% make it in.

Makes you cringe.
