@ Kitsune,
The place in CT that he wanted to enrol at is Universal Computer Arts Academy.
Here's their site:

I speak under correction, but if I remember correctly, the 2 year course was around R80 000, and that's just for a certificate, no degree or diploma.

Damn.... that's a bit pricey for a certificate... For R80k i'm certain he could do much better elsewhere, boet.

Yup, hence his change of heart and enrolment to that university in your neck of the woods early next year, studying architecture.
EDIT: One can always take the range-topping VFX Professional course from Escape Studios in London, which I mentioned earlier. Just be prepared to get £1 change from £19000 for your 30 weeks' intensive computer graphics course... :

Heh... @kitsune, don't be too hard on yourself, nobody would have guessed I'm from Singapore, seeing I'm here gatecrashing the South African thread. Work's fine, my legs are tired. That's the way it is in the retail industry. Hmm... Sony has a new line of Vaio notebooks, very nice I'd say. And for the first time, at an affordable price with decent specs, at least over here. Check out this link:

I think it looks much better in reality, feels great as well!

Haha... I know how you feel bro. After my first look at those notebooks, I was wondering why I couldn't have just waited till now to buy mine. Sigh... What a pity, I'll have to give it a miss. Anyway, after reformatting my notebook, it's working like it's brand new again.

Still outside Pretoria for work today. We are in the Bronkhorstspruit area. Got some nice pictures on the way.
Quick question, anyone else have trouble with Opera Mini 3? My phone has had trouble since installing it. All my apps seems to have lost its data, or has issues with saving data, and i am talking about my opera russian cracked version, and vibe, my music composing tool. Every time i used opera cracked, the bar at the bottom had a gradient colouring, from red to white, instead of red. Then my page history disappeared totally, my bookmarks were gone, and i had to run the setup procedure everytime i ran it. I removed version 3 in the meantime, and after re-installing russian version, things seems to have returned to normal. Anyone else have this?

Well the GNOMON High-end CG course is 21 months and will set you back a nice little US$43 300 that's around R310 000 without living expenses, but they help place you after you've graduated which is pretty cool.
It works out better than the Escape Studios course and I think it's more internationally recognized.
@deluded
Hmm, retail is not good. I got out of retail about two months after I got into it . |

@ Francois, yep, been having similar problems, had to resort to using Netfront to get online as well. Luckily i had a backup of my bookmarks, else i'd be using strong language right now...

@francoislr and Kryptik bro, are the 2 of you using the beta version? I'm using opera mini 3, final version and it seems alright so far. I use it pretty often, using it now to post even as we speak. Haven't noticed any adverse side-effects so far. Are you both using it on your symbian phones? Although I don't see why there should be a difference.

@ deluded, i installed what seemed to be the final version of opera 3, but i got something that affected my other applications. I dont know how that is possible, but it did. At least, it screwed with my opera cracked versions saved data, info, and stuff like that. I suspect it affected another application of mine. I have a w900i, which is not a symbian phone. Good ol java. If i had a symbian phone i would have had opera mobile. Opera mini is the java version, opera mobile is the symbian compatible one. Correct me if i am wrong.
The cracked version i got cant save the bookmarks...bummer...

I'm using Opera Mini 1.23.something.or.other, the one with all the bells and whistles aka copy and paste, etc. Lately it's been giving me headaches, arbitrarily removing bookmarks, thus the backup of the bookmarks...
i also have Opera Mobile, which is great, apart from the fact that byte-heavy sites are just that, byte-heavy when using Mobile... When using Mini though, they get shrunk down to much smaller proportions, thus giving me more Net for my buck, lol

@ Kitsune,
Yhu, 310K!!
I should bloody hope that they do some leg-work to promote and locate work for those who have completed the course..., they'd better throw in a free GNOMON coffee mug and souvenir pen for that too.
And that colossal amount is before living expenses etc. Eish...

@kitsune: If you're paying R310k for a course then what's the pay like in animation? I thought you could get a good business degree for that sort of money and still get change.
Any comments on the new Z310?

The external display reminds me of a more refined Moto W220 or Alcatel OT E-256. Like the fact that you can assign a certain colour LED warning (for the external display) to the phonebook contacts a la Panasonic VS6.
Certainly has the 'cute factor' going for it, and some popular colour options.
However, I'm gonna be difficult and say that including a FM radio would've been a nice touch, like they did on the more basic J230i.
My biggest gripe though is going to be the girth factor again; 24.5mm is still gonna expand those pockets somewhat...
