Really strange. Never heard of dust underneath a touch screen before.

Samsung Jet had that issue, i often saw people complain about it having dust under its screen, that's the only touch phone i know of with that issue though.

Nokia X6 had that issue too. Anyway guys panic over Last night I had a good clean of the screen & I suddenly noticed the white specs gone. They looked like before they were underneath the screen but they were actually stubbonly stuck to the surface & hard to remove. I have gleamed it up nicely now Relieved I am I did also have a spec of white dust underneath my x10 Mini screen whilst on holiday last year. But panic over now

This upsets everybody. You maybe have the phone not well tight. Check if the phone is somehow loose.

No all seems ok but I panicked cos its happened to me before. I also remember on some forums reading that early versions of the HTC Desire had a dust issue. @Goldenface just cos its not happened to you does not mean it.don't happen. A touch screen can get dust inside depending on how well its sealed. Some screens have a gap inbetween the screen some don't. I did have dust under the Mini screen and the Samsung Jet it does and has happened.

great news if it's true...
Okay take this with a huge pinch of salt, but Brazilian consumer complaint site Reclame Aqui, has seen Sony Ericsson Brazil respond to one person’s complaints on the Xperia X10 with a startling revelation. The official response to the person’s complaints on the lack of updates goes on to say that whilst Android 2.2 (Froyo) will not be released, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) will instead release in October 2011.
Whilst we would like to believe in any glimmer of hope, we were told in no uncertain terms that there would not be any more updates to the Android firmware for the Xperia X10 family, Android 2.1 was as good as it got (at least officially). We have also seen satellite offices make contradictory statements in the past that are retracted shortly after. Unfortunately I suspect this will be one of these occasions. We’d love to be proven wrong though…

@moogoo try this for flashing X10a FW 2.1.A.0.435 (newest FW I believe). Just read the instructions and backup your stuff before doing anything.

X10 hardware can run gingerbread and it runs fast. I've run a custom gingerbread ROM on my phone for a few days in the last week and it is very fast. It ran flash in the browser and everything but was a bit buggy, being a custom ROM in beta. Hopefully a couple more weeks and it'll be ready to use full time.

I'm going to stay away from the 2.1.A.435 update I think. I have pinchzoom already ported from the JP kernel and I'm well optimised pulling 33k+ on linpack in 2.1. Unless the update is massively optimised and has flash I'm out.
