The home button at a press does that if you tell it to with ADWlauncher. Also with ADW you can pinch zoom out any homescreen to have an overview of all and choose which to go to directly. Long hold will always show recent open apps. With stock SE 2.1 the holding the dot thing was demoed by Rikard Skogberg on the SE blog months before the first 2.1 update was released.

I prefer to use ADW nowadays for it's customisability. I found a way to open up the stock music app so I'm completely without mediascape now. Stock music and stock gallery are way faster and more user friendly.

@Indiandawg you can use SEUS to do a fresh flash of your firmware. This should remove any root or 3rd party apps and restore Timescape/Mediascape etc. Make sure you back up your shiz though i.e. contacts are synced up or backed up, sms/mms are backed up, backup data from 3rd party apps if you don't want to lose your angry birds stars.

Thanks a lot Ricky. Actually I deleted Angry Brids as I finished all the level lol.
BTW ZEUS fresh cash means re update right? So should I wait for new firmware?

@Indiandawg I thought you wanted to basically reset the original software and get a service centre to upgrade your FW, right? SEUS will do your new firmware if it's released for your CDA/'kit' and if it does you shouldn't need to send it to a service centre.

I'm in two minds about whether or not to update to the new official FW or not. I've ben keeping tabs on a custom 2.3 on xda and may just wait till that's stable enough and optimised. The performance increase should be pretty good to damn awesome.

That's right. Actually more than upgrading I just want to know how to un root and get the stock apps. I am also planning on custom Roms but only when they are stable. Currently my phone has got little slow because of tons of apps and all. I want to wipe out everything and keep what I need. I have already wiped off many applications but I want the X10 to have as many minimal files from now.

So I should upgrade the firmware and that will unroot and get the stock apps, right?

I don't want to say whether you should wipe or not, that should be your decision but wiping and upgrading the firmware will clear off the rubbish on the phone and should make it feel like new again i.e. unrooted etc. Just remember to backup anything you're likely to want. It never hurts to backup and has so often saved me from sweaty situations.

Dam, that's the 1st i read of dust under the screen on an X10, and ive dropped mine quite a few times. I remember when my W900 had dust under its screen, took it in for cleaning and repair, it came back with fingerprints and a few months later had dust again, your phone never realy is the same after repairs.
