I think Sony's most important problem is being Japanese. Japanese products are of a really poor quality. Xperia Z's displays suck because they are made in Japan, Tokyo messes up the updates etc. You also see this in other things; Toyota and Lexus suck, their economy sucks.
So I think it would be better to move their HQ out of Japan and hire foreign employees and move all their production out of Japan.
Sir
the only way to accept these crazy words is either you are south east Asian (Chinese or Korean) , or you are really the first weird man i have even knew him
FYI
for Japanese history in cars , please return to ADAC , and all road tests and reliability studies and also see what the R&D in TOYOTA , HONDA , NISSAN , FHI , inveneted
for electronic , SONY , PANASONIC , AIWA , TOSHIBA , SHARP is more than enough in the R&D
i am not JAPANESE , but at least i am honest with myself , so guys are brilliant in R&D
see the vibrator electric dumpers in there streets , see the air conditioning city streets
i can declare that they live in light years in front of Europe & USA |

U hve gone mad!!!
That's d WORST comment i hve ever seen in my life:@ ! Even sammy fanboys don't comment that much of baseless sh*t against Sony...
From d starting days of Sony till now the only thing that has been consistent in this world is Sony's superb quality & design...! & that's d thing that keeps me gng again & again for Sony products.
My entire family has a history of buying sony products & not even a single device has ever created any kind of trouble(except for a dirt cheap SE k220i)

waaaaay to much attention for a troll post...
There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed.

i am too curious about the sales of Xperia Z! Is it 4.6 million as it first was believed to be?
That was reported after like 40 days of being on sale. I'm quite sure the sales figure would be much higher by now.
Once Sony releases phones that are on par with the competition, their sales will continue to improve. Simple. Xperia Z proved that.

"Lastly, Harai is not immune to the challenges he faces in the mobile division. He said that there are “issues to overcome in Xperia”. He has spoken to the Sony Mobile management team to “fix certain things”. Harai said that “I personally asked that since it is SONY DNA and my DNA, I will personally be involved.” Strong words indeed, we look forward to some great things from the future Xperia line-up"
It's an interesting read on their strategy for 2013.

I have just thought, the Honami may actually be the Google Sony Nexus phone!
Check this for the latest on the upcoming Sony phones for 2013: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AreyfktYnDHtdHN0bVFPdUFJd0ZiNzZQcjMwV1I5M0E#gid=0 |

It wont have bravia engine 2, clear audio+ and other sony exclusive feature if it's a nexus so stop asking sony to make nexus devices

I agree with kurtdean. Vanilla is quite clean and pretty, but you loose out on all those extra things that really make it a Sony. If I were to choose between a Sony flagship, and an identical Sony designed Nexus, I'd go for the one with Sonys software.
The android version may be delivered a while after it comes to the Nexus, but Bravia & Stamina mode etc. are, at least for me, to be preferred.
