i just have a feeling that after mwc a lot of us willing to buy Z will lost our interest on Z, or maybe think it's not that WOW as we first though.

3 store had a dummy version today which I had a play with. First impressions based on design:
Top quality design, best from Sony yet and easily one of the best on the market at the moment. The glass back is lovely and it just feels a very premium design. Quite weighty but that is a plus point. Recessed rockers and switches also very high quality and robust. Shame about the port flaps but other than that this phone oozes quality and design.
It's a big phone, there is no denying that. It feels big and that screen is huge. I wouldn't want to drop it as it looks like it could break!
My biggest concern is more the ergonomics of the design. Size wise it's only marginally bigger than the S3 but unlike the S3 which imo gets away with it's large size by having tapered edges and curved back, the Z is very slab like.
With it's squared of edges I envisage that it could be awkward to use one handed purely because you can't get enough reach to the whole of the screen. The depth is also quite thick and box like so it doesn't sit that naturally in your hand.
Saying that I haven't used it in real life so it may be something you can adjust to. The S3 imo just pulls the whole large screen phone issue off by being more aware of the need to use your phone comfortably.
I can't see phones going beyond 5". For me 4.5 - 4.8 is the max the screen can be and I wonder if this is the largest we will see the smartphone go.
All in all looked a lovely device. Now for the real working version! |

Not really. If you see, there are four companies who are to watch out for. Motorola/HTC/Samsung & LG.
HTC - M7
1.7GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm
4.7-inch SoLux display with 1080p resolution
2GB RAM
32GB internal storage
LTE, 42Mbps HSPA+
Wi-Fi, Beats Audio, Stereo Speakers
2300 mAh battery
Jelly Bean
13MP rear camera with f2.0 lens, 2MP front camera
LG - Optimus G Pro
5.5-inch Full HD AH-IPS display
32GB of Internal storage with microSD card slot
2GB RAM
Jelly Bean
1.7GHz Qualcomm Quad-Core Processor
13MP Rear camera & 2.1MP Front camera
3140 mAh battery
NFC.
Motorola - X-Phone
Android - 5.0 Key Lime Pie
4.8-inch display
Kevlar back
3000mAh+ battery
Up to 128GB internal storage
Sony camera sensor
MicroSD card slot
Quad-Core Processor
Samsung - Galaxy S IV
4.99-inch full HD AMOLED display.
Quad-core 2.0GHZ Exynos 5450 Processor
2GB RAM
Jelly Bean
13MP rear camera & 2MP front camera
Wireless Charging Support
NFC and 4G LTE
3300mAh Battery
----
Now I don't really see any major difference. Hardware & Battery is one place where it's still not on par but I still believe XZ has got it's own charm in Design/UI & Innovation like water-dust resistant.
P.S - All above Specs/Images are rumours

It really excels in low light. A new standard for cameraphones imo.

Could you post a pic with Xperia Z and Xperia S, side by side, and one on top of another, on every angle (bottom, top, sides, front) and on the side, .

Looks like it's shot at the station in St-Truiden. The picture looks very nice. I'm wondering how much better the exmor RS is compared to the exmor R in low light situations. A comparison would be great. Is the bravia engine 2 always active, or is it only active in specific apps? What do you think about the sound quality of the speaker? I'm also interested in how well the wet finger tracking works. It would be nice if you could still make calls and such in the rain.
I still have a xperia x10, thinking of buying the xperia z. I needed to make a phonecall in the rain once, couldn't even unlock it .
