need some help with my iphone..
can the wi-fi function work without the sim being inserted? because, i get the symbol to tell me that there is wifi avaible, but my iphone can't connect to it.
The reason for this is that i have run up a huge bill for data usage in the past, when i have put in my sim card in.

I've just poped my sim out and I can still use safari to browse the internet etc so yes, the wifi works without a sim card

Yeah works fine without sim just like Masseur said, you can install a prog from the installer called boss prefs which allows you to turn edge/gprs off so it won't connect other than with wifi.

but i still can't use/connect to the wi-fi. Do you think its firmware related?.. my iphone is unlocked and running the 1.13 firmware..

is it your wifi? is it password protected? is the signal weak?

got an iPod Touch 32gb coming tomorrow....
Just wondered, what cases are people using? Silicon, Crystal, Leather?
I can see a few types in Comet, PC-World etc... but wondered Esato members prefered cases for their iPods and iPhones !

i dont use a case, not one scratch one the front and ive had it since nearly the uk release date |

Hi Ofiach,
I had a PDAir Flip case that could attach with a belt clip or a neck chain and still gave full access to the device. You can check it out in what was my for Sale thread as it's been sold now. I also had some really good Anti Glare screen protectors from the Apple shop and the Griffin Headphone adapter which was all i needed.

yes. in fact this is mostly what I play as audio is so twentieth century
I ripped most of my music video DVD's and also download close to a GB of video podcasts from itunes each day
