@ Miss.Uk
Yes i prefer it to the N80,mainly because its a lot faster and newer,also has around 45.1mb ram on boot so i can multitask a lot more than i did with the N80.
@ Sapporo
Thats great mate!! you're right it could do with more internal memory. Which one did you get? The 8GB?
@ Boba and Miss.Uk
Yep right now theres two but a third is coming im sure, i say this because theres the N81-1 (N81-8GB) and the N81-3 (Normal N81), so i wonder if theres a N81-2 maybe for the USA???

@gucci,

I got the normal one. I do have the "iPod with Phone" (the true name for it) should I want to listen to music or videos, etc.... All in all it is a nice device. I like it much better than the N95 or the E90 that I had.

@Miss UK

It was locked due to part 2 now being available as didn't want the second part of the review to get lost among all the post's and the thread was getting very long IMO.

@Sapporobaby

Congratulations on your new device looking forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Marc

Kewl Nokia should bring out a Black Mem Card N95 too I think,
I do prefer to just plug and play rather then having the hassle of wires

is the N81 much different to the N80 I mean the menu's etc?
its prob more like my E65 right?

look forward to your reviews you too

@ Dogmann, ahh right I though Masseur had one of his moments again

Hey Ms. UK.

I traded my E65 in for the N81. The E65 is nice and small, and PAINFULLY SLOW. I really am not sure what Nokia was after with this phone. It is a combination of many things and does nothing really well. On the other hand, I am happy with the N81. The only thing I do not like is the gaming key located near the speaker. I broke it about 2 days after getting the phone and because it is so new, my local Nokia rep shop does not have the parts for the repair.

As for the N80, I can not speak for it as I never had one, however I can say that the N81's icon/applications are in different locations than they were with the N95 and E90. I simply moved them back to where they were. Not sure what Nokia was thinking here with this.

What way do you say slow by the E65?
mine runs fine so does my N80 aswell

my last E65 had bugs but I had it replaced so far touchwood my exchange handset is ok, however it does have the occassion to light up every 5mins when the batts almost flat

the phones growing on me now hated it to begin with,
however it's a nice pretty little thing even though it lags alot

The N80 is alot like the N95 just missing a few things minus that it's a decent handset, I have no issues with it what so ever !

N81 sounds a good handset btw hopefully it will last longer then the N80 on the market

Alright so I thought that a thread like this wouldn't hurt especially the fact that there are many N series phones relesed from Nokia: N70, N71, N72, N73, N80, N90, N91, N92, N93.

So N Series Users,feel free to post your problems and questions here.

Cheers

Thanks Boba and I have always wanted to ask that why does it appear as if the Symbian phones are much more upgradable than the N series phones at most. Yes its more like a stupid question but it wouldnt hurt right?
Even the E sriesies have the same problem. A good example is when yo try to implement ohone secure

What are you trying to say? I can't quite understand your context.

@ Miss.UK
Compared N80 the N81 has the same stand by screen with 6shortcuts, Wlan Wizard etc BUT the Multimedia Menu has changed and looks A LOT more sophisticated and easier to use with the Navi-wheel, il upload some screenshots of the menu and multimedia menu. Its a lot faster than the N80, it fully boots up in 21secs, which i think is impressive for a smartphone also has around 45.1mb ram on boot and 40mb average, im able to run 13apps and still have 18mb ram left which is realy good considering it doesn't have Demand Paging like a N95-8GB or N82. The N80 still has the best screen though in the Nseries, The N81 screen is REALY big bright and colourful and looks great but it is not as good as N80.
