The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

Root and then Adfree from the Android market.

Everyone else discusses it on other forums without some penis crying about it

@ Ricky, Ive done what you have said ive let the phone completely die then recharge 3xtimes
but still it's at 98% it also began going down pretty quick tonight too well I did visit market and downloaded a Battery but to see what the percentage was also like on that reading but it was the same as my clock widget reading!

strange ive just removed the indicator of the clock now anyway im hoping it will charge upto 100% though

I never charge phones on the PC only my iPod gets done on it!
lol and it's always turned of when on Recharge too

I used to think if you completely finished the juice on the phone and wacked it onto charge then it would be alot better for it, but if you wack them onto charge at 15% then it mucks the battery up?

@Miss UK The battery thing is due to the technology of modern batteries. Basically if a certain part of the battery holds charge for too long the chemicals start to crystallise rendering them useless. So periodically fully draining the battery is a good thing, but you don't have to do it everytime just once every month should be ok after the initial conditioning.

I thought if you did the full cycle a few times in a row it may help lessen this crystal effect which might be the cause of your missing 2% charge. If it's not seeming to work then I'm not sure what your issue is but I cycled my battery fully 6 times when I first got it just make sure it was ok. Maybe I'm a bit of a freak it wasn't necessary.

Are you on the latest FW?

@Hobbs my FW didn't upgrade it just undid the MT I had installed, which thanks to the links to xda on this thread works everywhere it should now I don't need the next upgrade, unless it'll be to 2.2+ or have this new fandangled fast camera interface from arc

What I've heard, Lit-ion batteries should absolutely never be completely drained of it's charge. I could be wrong and reckon it would be nice to see some real facts.

The supplied charger delivers 0.7A while each usb port on a desktop pc gives +5Volts (4.75v-5.25v) & delivers approx 0.5 amperes (500mA) of current to the usb device. Laptops running on battery; only 100mA is allowed to draw from each usb port. Thats why it takes long to complete the charge. Use an external powered usb hub with +5V,2A DC adapter and then charge it. It will be charged in less time. [addsig]

@Miss UK, glad that you're seeing 100%
But remember that these percentages are not precise. A 100% battery status doesn't mean that it is actually 100%. It is just approximation.

Charging it @ 14% or 50% left doesn't matter. If after complete charge it is still showing 97 or 98%, do one thing. Unplug the charger from the phone (not from the socket) and then plug it again just for a sec and you'll have "100%" I've experienced it on most of my phones. [addsig]
