@ Brix well you don't work for Voda or own a Vodacom store how do you know that customers are not moving from other networks to Vodacom.Vodacom is activating more customers on there network than MTN and Cell C.Voda has the lowest churn rate. Why? Because Vodacom is always the 1st in everything and good customer care.I know previously on this forum you said Vodacom has the best customer service.Well i got news for you from this year May,Vodacom Customer care will be even better.Vodacom SP and Vodacom the network will be one entity........In the PIPE LINE i know KBR786 is going to go mad when he sees this VODACOM IS GOING TO LAUNCH DATA BUNDLES VOUCHERS FOR PREPAID AND TOP UP CUSTOMERS.......Voda launched SMS bundels for prepaid customers in DEC 04 till now MTN did notting and they charge you for delivery reports. Our MMS is 80 cents for 100KB MTN is R2 for 5kb..........People might callme MTN basher but these are FACTS

@Tahir:LOL...I never bashed any company but then again I don't have a vested interest... you own a Vodacom shop and It's your business to trash MTN. I'd like to networks offer unlimited GPRS(wap) for a standard fee.

@Brix i did not say you are a company BASHER i said people will call me a BASHER.Data rates will come down in the near future and get DEAD CHEAP.I can only see a FLAT RATE UNLIMITED USAGE on GPRS in 2-4 years time or maybe it will never come. When other broadband companies have the same blanket coverage like Voda and MTN may then it will happen. The other thing you must think of is MOBILITY

@Rhino Vodacom Customer Care 082111,082114,0821082(all goes to the same place) helps both contract and prepaid customers on anything. With MTN 173 they only help prepaid customers but contracts customers only network problem.I have tested MTN call back systems in both busy and quiet times and they dont call back in the time they promised .Vodacom Customer Care will call you back within 24hrs Guaranteed if not sooner but you must log a Fault and they must give you a ref no.Vodacom call centres quietest time is between 12:00pm to 16:00.MTN has 1 prepaid and the other you must contact your SP.Voda customer care goes to one place so there customer care centre is more busy than MTN plus Vodacom subscriber base is 2 times the size off MTN.Like i said before customer care will be getting better from MAY with Vodacom.Only Vodacom gives you a 2 year warranty on hansets, have more repair centres than MTN.Cell C has 1 repair centre.Only Vodacom has walk in customer care centre. You see VODACARES.

@Tahir, I see your'e a vodaman, its a shame Vodacom couldn't launch 3g by themselves, they had to bring in Vodafone to launch it for them, the reason is they jumped the gun knowing MTN was to launch and they didn't have the expertise and infrastructure to go with it by themselves,,,,,,shame they say they are africa's no. 1 network, makes you think........and about the 2 year warranty its all nonsense, my brother took his handset to Vodaworld which is 8 months old, they told him its out of warranty because it had some dings and scratches, I like to know which vodacom customer has never dropped or dented their handset in the 2 year period that they had it, you see it's only to market their brand, that's all............

@ Celltech Vodafone has 35% shares in Vodacom 4 da past 10 years it will have a say in what Voda does.Infact Vodafone wants 2 buy Vodacom from TELKOM.DID U KNOW MTN WAS ONLY GOING 2 LAUNCH 3G in 2006 bcause Voda launched it DEC04 they jumped 2 it + Cell C mentioned they will launch 3G in June05 but i dont think this will happend...Get a copy of ITweb Brainstorm mag Sep 04.MTN states clearly "MTN WILL ONLY LAUNCH 3G WHEN SA IS READY & we might launch 3G by June 05 and latest 2006"MTN'S Group CTO KAREL PIENAAR said in the same article if Vodacom launches a viable 3G soloution by Dec04 "I'll EAT MY HAT"Mrl Pienaar will b EATING HIS YELLO HAT UNTILL MTN LAUNCH 3G. Voda said why wait 6 months 2 a year when da tech is available NOW.....Coming back 2 your phone.Any phone that has been dropped & has signs off abuse will VOID YOUR WARRANTY.Look it up in your handset manual + Vodacare terms and conditions are stuck on every phone Vodacom sell.......I ONLY POST FACTS & NOT "HOT AIR"

I say again, i am a proud voda customer, but the warrenty is shit. They are very reluctant to fix warrenty handsets, and i had lots of friends that was told that its water damage, coz that aint covered in the warrenty. If they then hand it in somewhere else, its detected that THERE IS NO WATERDAMAGE.

Explain that!

@Rhino You said you took your phones to another place for repairs after repairs.DID YOU SEND IT TO THE MANUFACTURER. or to NON AUTHORISED REPAIR CENTRE.The agents will not repair a liquid damaged phone because it will give problems later and the manufacturer will not pay them.................Sorry for saying MTN will advertise there new rates on MONDAY but in most of my previous post i said SUNDAY

@tahir, the whole point is that vodacom said it wap water damage, in more than 1 case while a 3rd party, an authorised centre could find no liquid damage in any of the phones, but well other larger manufacturer faults.

See MTN has followed the trend of branding the Blackberry. @Tahir: What's the deal with GSM phones being Vodafone branded(Moto V520)...Saw it in the Sunday Times.
