How is the W850 for gaming? I can't figure out if the 4 little dots around the play button is for navigation, or if they are only LEDs. If they are for navigation, does that make the PLAY button a FIRE button in Java games? Or do you have to slide the keys down in order to play games?

And the hiss question. How's the hiss on W850? I'm one of the many dissapointed W800 users who's lived with this hiss since the first firmware updated, patiently waiting for an update that never came.

as for the first point, yeah the leds are part of the D-pad and the play button is used as "fire" button in games. Plus you have the A and B buttons on top of the screen, used for horizontal gaming.

thanks, ads!

I'm leaning towards a white one - just because I expect the black version to be immensely popular, and I want something different hehe

Quite! The white one is classy and not so omnipresent in the market. No problems with dirt / colour change for now, at least in my case. Still, I tend to take good care of my phone[s]. I find navigation buttons much more reliable than the joystik, although somewhat hard to press until you get used to it. But being not much of a gamer myself, it doesn't bother me that much

sorry if this has been brought up but im thinking about getting the W850i on vodafone contract.

What sort of branding is vodafone putting on these? On the casing and the software?

Cheers

as far as i can tell..there's no genre option for w850..w950 might have it though.

I was about to get the W850, then I read this comment at gsmarena:

Quote:
hi i had this phone week ago and compared it with my friend's w810 with the same track and the same headset but w810 was louder and bass was stronge ,i thought that w850 must be better or at least equal to w810 but believe men 810 is louder by about 20%

is this a software bug that will be debugged in future firmwares or sonyericsson meant that so that they spoil our times and so is the brightness of the phone compared to k800 plz answer any help or info would be appreciated

anyone else have the same problem as this guy/gal, and could it be a software problem? Or is it just a simple fact it lacks bass in general compared to W810?
