The UL will only released in Japan on au, like so many others. Nothing new, and nothing "unnecessary" (except for in your opinion, of course.

ROFL at the xbox comments. You mean the rumoured weaker specced always on one? (Which too is a rumour admittedly, but statements by Microsoft guys regarding it have only supported the rumour, not long to find out).
I doubt the 2h flagship would be thicker than 12mm. If that means a much better battery and camera, who cares? (Besides males that wear skinny jeans, serves them right, lol). |

It is as powerful as, the always on thing was miss interpreted (it will be only for updates, and etc).
I also don't think it will be much more than 12mm. I said I don't want anything less than that.
Regarding my pants, yes, they are skinny. A) I am skinny myself, so they don't stay tighted to my body. B) I had to find a comfortable blue jeans so I could wear at school. Only found that one.
EDIT: the thing is that, at the end, I've been one of the few who've been defending Sony for the last two years, saying that this year it will be better, they will have better phones, or update them. But all I've got? Deceptions: Gorgeous devices and UIs, but last gen processor, sub par screens when you tilt just a bit. And, like everything in life, if things don't come with your expectations, you get tired of the same thing. Sadly, as off now, the other major companies, HTC and Samsung have nothing that makes me decide finally to jump to their devices. Sony still keeps me on it. But that keeps me on it, and like my personal social life, always one step behind.
But, after all, I'm just a single consumer between a million of many others. But, what about the many others I might have influenced?

I don't think Sony would risk launching a phone with a thickness greater than 12mm in this modern age (it's got to at least try, of all things, to compete with the thickness/slimness of SGs4 and the HTC One: 7.9mm and 9.3mm thick, respectively) - then again, I'm using a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro right now, which is 17mm thick, so anything thinner would be welcome.

I'm willing to bet thickness is areason Sony will be releasing so many s800 variants. One will be a thicker, no compromise phone (honami) and there will be athinner one that will probably have the same camera as Xperia Z.

That's too early to say, I don't know where you get the info, but from where I read about gaming consoles, PS4 has the upper hand, since the rumored PS4 will be using an AMD x86-64 cpu which is similar architecture as a PC has, and that PS4 is very developer friendly unlike the PS3. Ubisoft even praised the PS4
A console's success relies heavily on the games that will be on it, not just it's specs.
Also, I just noticed it has a Xenon flash. I never saw one of these (I'm 16 only, though)
really? not sure if you are joking or what, but a xenon flash is the same as the ones on those digital cameras, it is nearly impossible for it to be yellowish, plus you get excellent lighting as well as blur free shots when you have xenon due to it's instantaneous light being very bright.
Anyway this has been off-topic, but still Kaz is pushing Sony in the right direction, in my opinion Sir Howard Stringer CEO of sony 2005-2012 literally brought sony to its knees, It was just terrible Sony was so slow back in those years, no groundbreaking product and it's as if Sony has no direction to where it's going, they even sold the first PS3s at a loss, it was just too expensive to manufacture back then. With Kaz I think Sony is coming back, only time will tell though.

I actually think Sony has upper hand in this generation console war. Rumors suggest that it has more raw power, the controller also looks awesome-you can hold Xbox controller in just one way but you can hold dual shock controller in different ways depending on what you are playing, ps4 is the first 4k setup box and finally I've read somewhere that Xbox needs to pay patent fee to Sony if they want to use blu-ray; I can't imagine next Xbox not supporting blu-ray and patent fee is pure loss for MS and pure profit for Sony. The other thing is Sony is rumored to push hard on free to play games. In India, ME and parts of Africa MS has almost 80% market share mainly because of people there are able to play Xbox games cracked and for less money. |

Viewing angles are perfect - 178 degrees horizontal.
And the screen is "very impressive" according to someone who has seen it.  |

IGZO is also VA, so IGZO is in the run along with Sony. But Sony is ahead at the moment
JDI is ruled out completely as they don't make VA panels.

Also, uterly dissapointed with Sony. What's the reason with Xperia UL? Also, Honami, 15 mm and still trying to make it 12mm? That means no thin phone with a good camera (don't need to be that awesome)...
Well, or Sony comes up with something different (same specs, except that nice huge camera), or I'm moving out.

Man up, we been stuck on this fad of thin phones and small sensors for too long now. 12mm would be acceptable and by no means a brick. Thats slightly bigger than my Acro and its far from "thick".  |

he's been supporting Sony for so long and even now
I guess he just disappointed about Sony's answer to those competitors, they haven't done much since the XZ came out :<
However, I disagree with him about the PS4 unable to compete with the New Xbox, because those 2 console will use the same x86 architect, so the raw power will be the same (i guess  ), but the Kinect add on might be the key differentiation from PS4 (who knows...)
For mobile field, they haven't done enough yet, the XZ is good, but the hype is too short...... 
I hope the Honami and Togari will fix these issues
