@ Francois,

We use Skype weekly, via a flat-rate unlimited broadband connection and yes, it thus costs zilch to 'Skype' someone on a PC in SA or anywhere.

Skype has some great features, ie. 'conference'/ group calling, leaving free sms/text-type messages, etc.
You are correct that there are low rates when using Skype to call landlines.

We installed a webcam with Skype and Mrs Amawanqa's parents have done the same, thus it's great being able to see each other live ( I get along well with her parents), but Mrs A really then 'verlangs' after Skyping her folks, and her old man's gone to get the dog to show her, etc, etc...

@francois: Right now Google has got email on lock on mobiles unless you want to be a fancy pants and carry around a Blackberry.

Just a question. Can you access any email on this movamail?

What is this about not using e-mail on google? I used it yesterday still, and it worked...And they are still advertising it, the app...?!?!

Movamail Key Features

MovaMail provides you with a fast and effective solution for accessing all your existing email services without investing in an expensive dedicated device.

* Speed: MovaMail is up to 10X faster then most built in email clients or WAP based email services.
* Multiple Email accounts: MovaMail allows you to consolidate all of your email accounts.
* Compatibility: MovaMail supports POP, IMAP and Webmail (including Yahoo!, MSN, Hotmail, AOL, Gmail and more) ensuring you have the best solution for accessing all your various email accounts.

* Image Attachments. Full support for viewing, sending, forwarding and receiving image attachments.
* Camera Phone Support: MovaMail's integrated camera access allows you to quickly take a picture from your phone camera and send via email.
* Less Data Traffic: MovaMail uses up to 10X less data traffic due to our proprietary Optimization and Compression Engine. This provides you more email at a lower cost.
* User Friendly Graphical interface: MovaMail is easily navigated through a graphical user interface that corresponds to specific keys on your mobile phone touch pad.
* Multi-lingual Support: MovaMail recognizes the language capabilities within your mobile phone and allows you to communicate in your chosen language.
* Optional XHTML Interface: If you cannot use our Java client for whatever reason we also have an XHTML interface that you may access on your mobile browser.

That is it, everything it can anc can't do.

@ Kryptik, that was brilliant! Got me laughing my head off!

Same problem this side, so I have started doing the http://www.imageshack.us/ thing. Upload your picture there, then they give a code for forums. Copy it, paste it in your post, and Bob's your uncle...you saw my pictures...that was my first time I did that.

Example, I just uploaded a picture. You get a page with all the codes on. I am going to insert the different types of codes to see what it will do in the forum(doing this for me as well, really interested to see what will happen)

@francois: The Gmail app starting working again after I changed my APN settting to "Internet" from the "Vodacom" I normally use...won't attempt Vlive!

Also noticed this morning that Gmail has slightly changed it's look.

@ brix, I tried the Vlive thing, but only my Vodacom settings worked. For some reason the thing is just showing the Loading thingie, and not getting anywhere.

I'm not sure, i've never used Photobucket before... With Esato i'd have to use my phone's browser to upload an image, whereas with Imageshack all it takes is two clicks and Robert's your mother's brother.

Imageshack works great on firefox. Got a plug-in with which i just drag it into my post window, it uploads, and the code goes straight in:)

@ amawanqa, guess what? No, not a promotion, although i could do with one. Yes, the package has arrived:) thanks bro! Listening to Mercury now:) Very interesting music! Can definately get some ideas out of it:-D

So yeah, the weekend has pounced onto us once again, but i must say, we were a willing victim this week, did not run that fast:)

Once again Wanqa, thanks a million:)

...and a truly beautiful sunset captured at that.

@ Francois and Siosal,
That's excellent news...and has gone some way in restoring a tad more faith in some of the SA postal services.
Those last 3 padded envelopes took much longer to arrive than 'normal' post to SA, but hey, who cares now, as long as you've received them intact. Enjoy.

Will see what freebies I can get again at next year's show...

@ Francois,
I'm sure you've discovered the diversity in those songs; some have Hendrix-style riffs, some fall clearly into the experimental realms with all the distortions, etc.
As promised, will PM you the track list when I get home; I'm still at school and have lots of admin loose ends to sort out.
EDIT: Kryptik won't have to send you that lanyard video now...

Absolutely agreed, Wanqa, that's a beautiful sunset that Sio has captured. Great 1st pic, boet.

@JMash, i couldn't agree more, the bhuti has really brought a smile to our faces.

Soooo, Wanqa, which type of cattle do you prefer to get in the Xmas stocking? How's the admin going, boet? Finished my assessment yesterday, knee-deep in revision for the next week, then it's time to mark the scripts and prepare the reports.

Thanks for the compliments on the pic guys. I'll try to post more when i can. @francois you've probably never heard of them(had to get the cd's imported) but you might enjoy Breaking Benjamin. They are a very good hard rock group thats a got quite a commercial sound. They don't stray too far chord wise but Ben's vocals are amazing and the know how to work with what they've got. Just a thought. Use it, or not.
