A JV with Google would be interesting, could give Sony the break they need in the US and have access to the Android source code way ahead of anyone else.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

kaz says they will secure profits. Meaning you'll only see premium handsets once a year.

Finally a good time for WP10 handset??
That would be epic surprise...
I am tired of crappy and battery thirsty Android...
Plus the WP10 UI is much more smoother and would fit the omni-balance design.
Easier to release updates... as all is much more streamlined... less HW stressing.. |

you need to prove it first. M$ should update all WP7 to the latest OS first to prove it. lol |

no prove needed. At the time of release of 8.0 the 7.5 devices couldn't handle the new SW. They should be able to run 10 but as with all OS , who cares for 3year old HW.

I don't think they will sell Xperia as long as they can derive a profit and if that means focusing on a few high end smartphones a year then that's good. They can focus all their energies on creating fantastic hardware, like they have been doing with the Z3 series.

Damn. Another one to bite the dust
I really hope SONY at least goes for a one last run with only the premium range on offer. Just 3-4 phones, the Z,ZC,ZU and the Tab. All based basically on the same platform and they should totally invest into this. Could save them.

I really hope the Lollipop update is a stable one cause I don't see any developments happening anymore

So how many mobile phone companies can Apple kill ..
So far we have
Blackberry
Nokia
Sony
My guess is probably HTC and one of the Korean OEMS is next.
Collaboration with Nokia is out of the question.

I think we can all agree that kaz hirai has been an absolute flop. "One Sony" was just a big failure. The guy is an idiot. The only reason ps4 is doing good is because of mark cerny |

Taking into consideration, that Sony's and Ericsson's booths will be next to each other on MWC 2015, I wouldn't be surprised, if would be announced a new Sony Ericsson era
Better said it would be the greatest surprise, better, than any Z4 announced.

Ericsson should release a smartphone themselves. Outsource the hardware to Foxconn and make the software in house. A light android skin with the help of Sonys software division (they will be unemployed soon anyway) |

They should have realized this a long time ago. They're current midrange and low-end phones are not really competitive at all. Seeing that Samsung are gearing up against the Chinese manufacturers, I don't see any reason how Sony would compete with what they have right now. It makes me sad that they seem to not acknowledge the fact that these past few years, it had been the Z series that is keeping them alive on the mobile realm.
In the first place, they shouldn't have targeted for market share at all.
