BUMP lol! I have yet to take my N80 in, been so busy with exams which end tomorrow and other things happening, hopefully i can take it in in the next few weeks before i go away on holiday, slide is realy starting to p**s me off now its TOO loose and the top part of the phone leans a bit to the left when open makes me think my phone is falling apart lol, but software wise its great, it hasn't restarted itself for about a month now, its going to do a lot of downloading this holiday season, im going to load some more avi movies like Surfs Up and Hitman hehe, and more apps, wish this had an Accelerometer and REALY wish Nokia could port Demand Paging to OS9.1 this phone would have been 10times better than it is now

I need the Vodafone UK GPRS and MMS settings before I can re-use my N80 for the time being it's safely in a Nokia Pouch

@joemax
Why would you want to run a rar file? you could of course unrar it and then zip it as you can get and run a zip program just never seen one for rar files though.

@ miss uk :
Vodafone NL automatically sends the settings for internet and MMS per sms, within minutes after you put the simcard in another phone, doesn't Voda UK do this then ?

I put my Voda sim in my old 6100 and it came up enter pin,
funnily I hadn't activated a pin yet
btw no settings were sent to that phone looks like i'll have to painfully enter them manually into the N80 which I can't be bothered doing atm

It doesn't work with older phones and simple ones, only with newer models, able to receive settings OTA.
Have you tried your Voda sim in your N80 ?

It a demo file and I assumed it was a Java app of some kind. So if .rar is an archive format, I'll look for an app to deal with it. cheers |

sorted - used UnRarX_2.2 for OS X and the file is now installed
Now, anyone know how to download new Nokia Maps on OS X as well as do FW updates ? |

If you read my N95 8gb review i am sure The Marques mentions that to do Firmware updates you need to run Boot Camp and not parallels no idea about Maps as i never use them. But is yours Sim free or branded? as they haven't released firmware for the Branded versions yet. Also you will need to run Nemesis to change your product code so you can update your firmware and get rid of the branding if of course it is branded.

@ Joe
if you intend on downloading more .rar files to your N95 get an app called X-Plore, thats the app i use to unrar apps on my N80. I think its a Lonely Cat Games app (LCG) X-Plore. Great app i prefer it to the built-in File Manager

thanks for the replies all.
My N95 is unbranded (just has an Orange SIM in it). Will go round a mates house, download Nokia Updater on his PC and run todays update from there. Will also have a play with the Maps downloader too.
Although it does say on Nokia's web site that product code 0547686 does not have an update and the latest is actually one version behind what I have (12.0.013).
Is the 20.0.0.015 available for the UK via the PC updater software ?
cheers
