I had a go on my mates Orange SPV M5000 tonight & never thought I'd say it but that is my next phone as I can't wait for Sony to get their arse in gear & release the P990, my upgrade was due 4 months ago & I can't wait any longer. I will still keep my T68i as my workphone though so I will still be a Sony man

Well no wonder the P990 has been delayed...SE has been working on a million phones! (J100, K610, M600, W950) Clearly they just spread themselves too thin this time around. I guess they are simply taking lots of time to work out bugs with UIQ 3 since several of their phones will be using it now.

Streaming video and playback of video (30 fps QVGA)

This is one bit i am really looking forward to, full screen at 30fps
No review so far has shown this feature at a glance! Has anyone here seen a review with the video being played?

Well, I have started to see more vendors push back the release days to early May now. That's not good.

What I'm worried about is no mention of the Flash Lite as part of the OS yet the new M600 & the Walkman K950 both have it ?~~!!!

Either SE needs to update the P990 or make sure it has FLash Lite!

PeterKay, I believe SE is preparing the path to streaming TV.

@_LAU_, streaming is not the issue i was talking about. but thanks for the link anyways. I was wondering whether anyone has played self encoded movies to play at 30fps? Just wondering what the quality and performance is really like!

Peter, the title of your post says "Streaming" so I figured you were talking about broadcasting video.

Regarding your new question, are you asking in the current P series or the new phones?
The new phones have hardware decoders, this means the software can decode video realtime without much effort from the player application.
I believe it will have a smooth playback, depending on the load of the applications running in the background.

This to is my main concern with the P99Oi. SE have not said if the "fully functionable" web browser can handle flash, or if Opera 8 can handle it. Other phone models have the macromedia flash lite. (sorry cant enter more text on my PSP, no flash either)

Does P990i Wifi allow network filesharing? Will there be a progame to edit videos on the phone like videoDJ?
