coming across a fully working R380 is already hard...finding a battery is even harder (even a second hand one). Battery life for good conditoned second ahand units are normally 1-1&1/2-2 days the max (noraml usage)
Battery consumption is quite a lot due to its large display & touch screen function. But regardless, the R380 has always been a standout during its time even till now...to my knowledge there are very few to no additional applications you could add to the EPOC OS but its hand writing recognition well compensates the pleasure of owning one.
...my opinion? GO FOR IT...is it complete?

@*Jojo* i think that's a great deal! I wanted the R380s but was sold out and I settled for the R320s. As for the battery you're sure going to struggle like I'm struggling to find one for my R600 that died in decembed last year after 4 years of use. Ironically my R320s' battery is still working after 6 years of use. |

@Boba- BSL-11. I actually bought a generic one last year as I was afraid the original's time was up but it refuses to die. The only thing is the standby time has decreased by about 40 percent other than that it's still fine. It's also funny that I could find a battery for my gh688 which is older than the R600. I bought that this year last month for my trusted gh688.

u should flash the fone with the last fw from time to time, that would also increase a bit the batt performance

@Boba- funny how I've been doing that with my SE phones like the t610, k700i and p910i and neglected the Ericsson ones. Thanks, will do. |

@Boba and others: A phone's firmware can't get compared to a computer's operating system. Wherefrom do you have the information that reflashing a firmware time by time would be any kind of optimization? The firmware doesn't change after once being flashed and it doesn't make a difference if it works for 1 or 3 years. It can't get broken or worn out by usage and there is really no technical nor physical need to flash the same firmware for a second time.
Another aspect is that any kind of flashing is somehow risky. You'll never know if any hidden hardware defect will leave the phone in an non-working state after flashing. That's untypical? I've had about 10 phones now that were dead after flashing and the only chance to revive them was to exchange the flash chip.
So please don't advice others to flash their phones if there is no good reason for doing it. Just imagine someone having a damaged phone after following your advice.
Our phones are old and usually no one can say what happened to the phone before he's got it. In most cases they already have the latest firmware flashed since there are no new updates to expect anymore. If you want to update a phone with an old firmware, if you need a different language or if you need to unlock a phone you have a good reason for touching the firmware. But never forget that something can get wrong.

@rosewhite- thanks for the info. By the way, all my Ericsson and Sony Ericsson phones were bought brand new and I'm the only person that's ever used them with one exception being the gh688 that was also used by my mother. What you're saying is there's no need to flash my R320s? |
