New X10 update (2.0.2.A.0.24) brings bug fixes; loses ability to root

The main improvements appear to be better performance overall including Timescape and Mediascape, a new keyboard and some users are reporting louder in-call volume.

Do the camera photos zoom in to full crop resolution or is it just the same useless screen resolution that gets blurred as they get bigger?

They do indeed get blurred :eyes I`m having problems seeing the point of this update. Been trying it for a day now and my phone is still laggy

Pinch zoom doesn`t work in MS only in my Gallery (Shortcut Gallery from the market)

Then what's the point of pinch zooming if you zoom in on a blurred image? Surely it's not too hard to implement full res zooming which other prehistoric phones and even X10 mini are able to do after so many updates. WTF SE.

Updated my X10, definetly faster in general, Mediascape is a bit faster, Timescape is A LOT faster, tiles scroll so quickly and smoothly, even the App Drawer is faster and smoother. Speaker volume is a bit louder and clearer, overall a nice li'l update.

Are you sure it is not the one finger zoom that we already have in the minis ore double-tap-to-zoom that is fooling you to think it is pinch-to-zoom ?

Try to move just one finger up and down or double tap on a photo and see if it zooms in and out.

As stated by SE them selves, MT is due in a update in Q1 2011.

2.0.2.A.0.24 Update

Sony Ericsson has released a new (minor) update for the Xperia X10 family. The firmware has been updated to version 2.0.2.A.0.24 with Baseband version 2.0.49. There is no official changelog from the company so we cant officially say what changes it brings. The main improvements appear to be better performance overall including Timescape and Mediascape, a new keyboard and some users are reporting louder in-call volume.

SE have blocked the current rooting method with the latest update. However, the chaps over on XDA forums have released a re rooted update.

Yes, you need to re-root after the update. [addsig]
