HI all,
@AYA, Do you have any direct dealing with Computer Warehouse Group or know anything about them? If Yes, How big are they apart from what their website displays?
The question also goes to anyone who has any info.
@Cool, Do you know how much xtra am being charged for getting at least a N100 worth of MTN recharge card from my UBA ATM Card?

CPW is a well-known phone dealer in the UK. So far as I can tell (from Esato, Mobilemagazines, etc), they are one of the largest phone retailers around.
PS: Angel, my eyes must have played tricks on me! I thought I read Carphone Warehouse; but turns out its Computer Warehouse Group.
No personal dealings with them, butthey are about the largest distributor and retailer of PC products and services in Nigeria. They also have operations in other West African countries. If you are looking for big, they are big.

@coola: That is the reason i have been skeptic about collecting the atm cards for all my accounts. I've only collected one and i've never used it. These banks always have thier hidden charges.
@aya: now u are among the the P990 clan, post up any good apps u are using. how long did ur update take.
@all: my poor T630 has finished its last leg and is on its way to the phone shop in the sky. im thinking of getting W850i but im still open to suggestions. i normally would have saidf SE phones only but due to AYA'S P990 purchase i have to show some similar flexibility! |

@AYA: Lucky u! My problem is on getting the firmware. I've been online for over two hours just to get it but always get messed up around 50% - 80%. Need to get a faster connection. My mistake was not to get it while i was in abuja. Could have taken advantage of the evdo there.
Still waiting for some advice on my phone selection. |

Brix, which dissapointment? The defeat was imminent...good riddance to bad thing. Berti should go...he has nothing to offer us, nothing!

In SA we're so used to the dismal performances by our football teams that no-one even contemplated suicide when we were knocked out. It was almost an act of mercy to spare us a heavy pounding which we had avoided in our three games.

I already have the update service software on my computer, and so it took me about 50mins to update my M600i
I take it your budget is within the 30-35k range seeing that you are already considering the w850i. Other phones in this price range would be Nokia 6300, E65, SE w950i (4Gig memory, no camera) K800i.
So go online and compare these phones to determine which suits your need best.

@coola: my only 2 pieces of advice i have is:
1- remember that u are planning for married life, not the wedding. dont break the bank to make everyone else happy then be miserable after everyone has gone home.
2- the typical advice everyone i know gives at a wedding, one word. PATIENCE!!!
@AMBY & AYA: as my P990 is still in excellent condition i dont need a "big" phone like W950 (haba amby, its going for 60k+!!!) i have gone online to check phones out but not all models out there are available here, and its good to hear about the phones from actual users. for now a phone that has a good enough memory for either snapping or music (2gig should do the trick). the phone should be small so i can lug it around with my other phones. 3G would be a good extra, especially if we have a situation of two service providers offering awoof services simultaneously!! (,yeah, yeah.... i know im dreaming but it can happen! think of of it..... MTN and celtel giving free 3.5 g services for 3months straight while they are getting thier act together. imsure the post here would quadruple instantly. ) |
