Anyone still remember this baby?
I think Sony should do a remake and bring back these cool stuffs, I remember playing with one of this using my t68i as the remote while people could hardly figure out who controls the car!

^^ think about the possibility of using something like with any current Xperia smartphone, that'd be sweet
Talk about nostalgia.
Speaking of doing something unique, I remembered the SE W900, the last Japan built international SE/Sony phone, I had one of them after my W800 was stolen, SE made a very short production run of the W900 before discontinuing it, remember how powerful that phone was for a feature phone?!! It had a NVidia GPU, I think it was the 1st phone to feature HW acceleration just before Nokia crushed everyone with the N93. There was also the S700/710 before that, very unique, combining the very best in Camera hardware, it almost seemed like there was no budget when SE built the S700 and W900, they simply through in the best bits of hardware in a lovely package and made a name for themselves, even the accessories were just amazing, and the packaging for both W800 and W900 was like no other, it was like you were buying into a whole new modern lifestyle, SE simply went wild with those phones.

@pt020: wow that looked like brand new
sorry guys I know I've been reiterating this over and over but seriously but MXE-60 is an ever important accessory that's been underrated even by SE themselves. I do hope Sony remakes this model with features as Jojotaro specified, wireless flash that autotriggers through wifi or bluetooth ala DSLR speedlites It's about time we get something like this, if they could make an innovative watch and headset for novelty reasons, why couldn't they make something like this again >_>
@bipinm: who cares about the patent, LED is LED and it will never substitute a xenon flash in output.
@moogoo: CAR-100 charges through the old port right?

@razec: yeap! but I used it so much back then and after so long, the battery just won't hold a charge anymore. I still have it and wonder if i could take the parts and use it to DIY something else, but i'll probably just end up tossing it at some point. I must not become a hoarder.. even if it is nostalgic and awesome

I have it on good authority that Sony want to get AOSP ported onto the three devices by the end of July and make the firmware available on their flashtool beta software. That would allow people with unlocked bootloaders to get AOSP through official channels.
My source also said they are considering selling Xperia Z HSPA+ with AOSP via Google, they are weighing it up right now. I think $549 is the price point they are considering. That would be the Xperia Nexus everyone is waiting for.
This page of the thread made me change my avatar back . Give life back to W800i .

Stumble upon some Chinese sites that state the following (concerning Togari a.k.a. the phablet);
3000 Mha battery
8 MP Exmor RS camera (to keep it thin) with LED
6.44 screen
These are not reliable rumors but I dig stuff up so we can have something to talk about.

The camera being 8 MP I get. If you want superb photos you'd go with Honami, right?
But I'm really hoping they'll squeeze in a larger battery. |

Well according to that rumor Sony is really insisting on maximal thinness so It really wouldn't surprise me if 3000 is all we get. Honami will be considerably thicker. |

I have to agree with Ambivalent. From what I have heard Togari will be just slightly larger than Z with a much larger display and because of that the battery will not be very large.
Some Xperia SP units suffering from display glitch
Nothing new from Sony, same old problems.

Assuming the rumours of 3000mAh are correct, it's going to be interesting to see how this will be perceived by the media and consumers. For example, it's less than the current-generation Note 2 which has 3100mAh and almost an inch smaller screen. It's a lot less than the nexus 7 (4325) which is more directly comparable.
The original Note had a 5.29" screen with 2500mAh. The Note 2 has a 5.55" screen with 3100. If the rumours are correct the Note 3 will have a 5.9" screen so it should probably have around 3500-3600 mAh.
It'll be an interesting design vs utility fight, but with the rate that the S4 is flying off the shelves I don't think consumers give a damn about design at this point. |
