@ Francois,
Agh nee swaer; don't give in to the wussy-music lovin' masses! Jokes, balance in life is all good. That's why I've got some embarrassingly soppy love songs etc on the PC; for those romantic nights in.
I've such a wide range of music on my PC, for all sorts of moods and occasions.
I'm a bit miffed that, by the looks of things, only one of the padded envelopes with those cellphone lanyards seems to have reached its destination...
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of the thieving scum that jack other people's post n' parcels!!!

Seems like it's a widespread problem because a parcel I was supposed to get from a friend in Boston also got lost (more likely stolen) in the system.

@ da brixsta,
What a way to start your week. Oh well, I guess tomorrow can only be better, I hope.
Maybe it's time to take stock, and move on...there'll be that person out there somewhere that will be willing to accept you as you are and for what you are.
I don't pretend to know all the answers with this or anything as such, (who does?!) , neither do I know all the facts etc., but hopefully what I say here can be of some value, whatever way things pan out.
While her uncomprimising, unswaying devotion to her faith is commendable in a way, would she impose other ultimatum-type restrictions on you later as well, if you guys were able to eventually find a way over this 'hurdle' together?
Mfowethu, I know it's so easy for someone else to say words like this, particularly when you feel so strongly that this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. I have been in a similar situation in my past, although religion wasn't the issue.
But it's just not worth letting this situation eat you alive from the inside for months on end; it'll chew you up and spit you out!!
Life is too precious and short, and if there's no way that she's gonna try find a solution with you, then broaden those horizons, bhuti.

A word to the wise- never ever close your eyes "just for a minute" after supper because you're feeling tired... You're going to be stuffed for the rest of the nite once you wake up all 11pm, much the same as i am right now
KBR, i smaak that R8, boet, it looks hot! Bet that if the Lotto pool wins it would be able to buy a few of those...
@Wanqa, the Post Office is fickle at best. Or maybe it's because the lady at the local branch likes me Thus far i've received just over 60 packages from the local chaps without anything untoward happening en route... or maybe i'm just plain lucky.
EDIT: I agree with Wanqa on this one, boet... You can hang in there, but to which end? The thought of her uncompromising adhesion to principles doesn't bode too well for the future, imho, as it's my experience that there'll be never-ending arguments eventually over trivial matters. uXolo bhuti.

Thanks for all the wise words. I'm coming to terms with the new set-up...it's not nice but I suppose it won't kill me.

@ wanqa, the music thing for me is strange. I don't listen to punk rock as such, don't like it that much, but I write a lot of punk songs, and LOVE being on stage playing punk rock! It is weird. I am just strange in that regard, and very open to things and styles, and not always in pursuit of a warm fuzzy feeling when I do anything. Sometimes the warm fuzzy feeling is not there, and I will not fool myself into thinking I always need it or that it should be there.
The parcel thing, I still have hope! I will abandon hope in a weeks time, but until then....
@ brix, take it from me bro, if she can't accept you as you are, better to not go ahead with this. Even if she wanted to go ahead with the relationship the problem is one of those that will break one of you too much to reach common ground on. Not worth it. You will find the right woman, just keep your eyes open.
@ kbr786, those cars are really really nice! funny enough I am not as nuts about cars as most guys...but those girls on the other hand...plakkies or not....I showed one guy at work the pictures, and soon everyone was here, up to the point where the one Afrikaans programmer was like : "Eddie, Eddie, kom kyk hier! Hier is daai girls wat ek jou van vertel het!" Very very funny!

The chick on the left was such a flirt!!
@ Jits
The menu structure is very big difference compared to the unbranded one, lotsa folks been screaming bout the crap P990 menu structure!
M600 has the same menu as P990, in this case the whole menu structure has been branded and changed! Not just the icons. |

Have u seen the R GTi??
Almost thirty years ago Volkswagen launched the GTI, the hot hatch that would revolutionise the concept of affordable and accessible high-performance motoring. Now comes the R GTI.
However, the R GTI is still a concept and made its debut at the SEMA Motor Show in Las Vegas. According to VW this concept is a "look forward" into the future of compact car performance.
VW describes the R GTI as a "low-flying stealth machine. It features striking carbon-fibre body panels, a four-passenger sports car interior, powerful turbocharged engine and competition-bred suspension.
The R GTI evolved from the stunning R Concept cars that stole the show at SEMA in 2005, and the R badge connects to the Golf R32.
However, unlike those R concept vehicles from last year, which showcased the extremes of performance-tuned Volkswagens, the R GTI represents a more "streetable" concept.
Although the R GTI is a one-off and Volkswagen currently has no plan to put it into production, the dedicated enthusiast could gather many of the R GTI's elements for a personal project.
Under the bonnet of this hot concept is Volkswagen's 2.0-liter FSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
According to VW they have tuned this engine to thrust out 279kW if 93-octane petrol is used. However, with 100-octane racing fuel power output is 295kW.

Anyone experience anyo down time on Vodacom 3G/GPRS this morning? Had a frustrating time, left home early because I was pissed off at not being able to check my email and do some research for a story.
EDIT: Finally got the video calling sorted out this morning...I had outgoing video calls barred all along...stupid me felt like the guy who calls the Microsoft Help Desk only to discover that his computer had never been plugged in.

lol@brix! happens to the best of us...the worst of them always go kicking and screaming and throw the toys out of the cot the day the weather is not how they want it, they are the ones who are the problem. At least there are few people out there that are like that. Once met a guy like that when I waitered. Everything was done exactly how it should have been, but he did not know squat about nothing, and got all in a knot about something. I almost killed someone that day, but my manager saw me with the knife just in time and removed me straight away...lucky bastard! The rest of us, at least we can mess up and do stupid things every now and again, as long as we don't get all defensive about our mistakes and attack whoever helped us right.
So how are all you others doing?
I also had a nap when I got home last night. When I did go to bed at 12 I could not fall asleep. Was tough getting up this morning...Whatever you do, do not nap after 3....

I was having grief with Vodacom early this morning, boet. I had my Vodacom sim in one of my phones, finally got tired of struggling to read the news and slapped the spare MTN sim into the phone instead.
I see that Telkom's wi-fi woes are escalating... In this morning's Herald, there's an article about the municipality rolling out wi-fi from next year onwards... and reference is made to Telkom's bid to stop the system currently used in Knysna, since it "costs them profits". That's really terribly sad, since we know their first concern has always been their clients. Not. Read more about it on http://www.theherald.co.za/herald/news/n11_07112006.htm

@786KBR:
LOVE the R GTi!!!!!!! Went onto vwvortex, just had to check. The R Gti and R32 both look the same, (slight differences)maybe the R GTi is just a bit sportier. Although the R GTi may be better in terms of fuel comsumption. The R32 is a 3.2 litre V6. The major difference would most definitely lay under the hood!(And what the driver can do for the car) Note: I said for the car and not to the car.
So how about I get the R32 and you get the R Gti and we take them out to the Tarlton raceway and try them out?
Maybe one day I'll win the lotto and be able to afford one of them!
