They've focused on refining all their apps and adding new services which is a very good thing imo. I believe we will see a new version of Android soon though, one which will be lighter, faster and more battery efficient... |

Google has only one keynote scheduled for I/O 2013, and they've introduced no new Android version nor a new device. Not hoping for another keynote. Other things scheduled are code labs and developer sessions. It's a nice thing though, that they've focused purely on Android and Chrome development for their keynote. This is a face slap to OEMs still struggling to bring the latest OS version to their devices. Another big slap is the fact that Google, despite being alarmed by Samsung's growing dominance in the Android market, had just announced a GS4 with stock 4.2 and software update support straight from Mountain View.

Quo vadis, C670X?

Also, remember the (now cancelled) C670x, that used the same 4.8" 1080p IGZO screen that Sharp are using in their own phone as shown today. For 1080p screens Sony are front of the queue for IGZO, so Sony are finally leaving TN and AV type screens behind.

They used TN? What devices did?

^^Dogo(ZR), the phablet, some sort of a version of the phablet (?), and the 4" HSPA+ phone.
Edit: It seems C680X was the i1? What's the phablet then?

What sort of person follows every post, including the explanations by zomgbbqftw on what's happening behind the scenes, and then brings up that discussion from a point of view of a person who doesn't know such information.

I am not sure but I think C6802 = i1, C6833 = phablet. |

@puestadelsol: I see your point the Arc was one of the best phone I used to have
There are still good devices coming from Sony this year aka Togary and the One Sony, the One Sony might be a game changer with good spec and build quality, that what im looking for by the end of Summer
I also agree that the NXT design is not that good compare to the Arc, but they were able to stay away from "Iphone Copycat", that's the main point I like about Sony
They have done it better in this year with the XZ, the design is stunning and totally different from the 2012 range
Maybe they might change the design language next year again
If you still interest in Sony device, please wait for the Honami and then judge i believe it will be a great device like the XZ

Honami's size and weight would be huge for me, after using Xperia ray. I wouldn't want more than 1-1.5 cm length in plus and more than 15 g in plus to this size. A price near 1000$ would be quite costly -the half of that sum would be payed for that it's Sony, just for the brand, and that was not the case in the time of SonyEricsson. And without a Xenon flash I wouldn't expect any groundbraking improvement of the camera, because they can use any technology, you won't be able to make a good shot in a club for example. |

But is Sony to blame for that ? It wasn't Sony who pushed huge phones, but Samsung primarily. With the Note and the 4.8 inch S3. Sony can't just ignore that and make 4 inch phones.
Ray was a different species of phone back in its day and a niche product. But making such a phone today (especially as a flagship) makes no sense for any brand as it simply won't sell. But still Sony is trying to enter that niche again with Ray 3.
And as for prices, you must keep in mind that Sony Ericsson produced phones that were a year behind competition specs wise. So its quite obvious they didn't charge much for their outdated hardware.
With the Honami you are paying for at par/better hardware than competition, not for the Sony name. And the 1000$ figure is only the RRP in special cases. Note 2 was 950$ last year. So just 50$ more for a much more superior product is definitely not "paying just for Sony brand name"

Oh. So, if these devices would follow the trend the other Xperias did when they showed up in the Indonesian Postel website, we might see them late August/early September. The other Xperias got released globally about four months after showing up in the website, almost a month after for the announcement. Seems things are all in schedule after all. |

They(honami and togari) don't have leaked benchmarks online?
@random
I think C6802 is phablet and C6833 is Honami as flagship phone always release in LTE version in south east asia
