i had a R1BC fw right now and modded it with hybrid cam, unlimited sms, etc.; and i want to update it to R1CA.

my question is:

will all these modification be lost if i do the upgrade and will return to default drivers?

yes thats a good question.. if you are updating via SEUS.

will SEUS recognize your setting?
if it does.. then it will probably overwrite all your mods and give you a fresh factory made FW.

it'll look at your imei and cda and give you the latest firmware available for that cda. If the cda is Vodafone for example, you'll get the latest firmware approved by vodafone for release on their handsets.

SEUS seems to overwrite all mods made to the phone. I had a lot of small mods, eg menu icon names, and used SEUS and it reset them all to the presets. ah well c`est la vie!

Good way also is to copy FS folder on the harddisk after finishing all changes. This is my back up . It's about 14 MB.

Also, good idea to back up BEFORE starting modding

Other day I backed up fs, forgeting phone memory was almost full.
FS, including USER folder, over 40MB. On 115200 K (for ultra reliable transfer), took a long time

I have some questions, and i would be gratefull if they are answered:

1-What a service cable is??Can i make one myself(i.e. by doing some modifications to other cables)

2-In the near futur is it possible to edit the phone's F/W with FAR using DCU60
(or it is unpractical at all)

3-Can i flash W550 (any phones other than k750) with davinci 13.7? If not with which client i can do it for free?

what do yah mean edit the phone's F/W via DCU-60? aint that flashing? we can flash/edit/debrand some phones using 3rd party softwares such as davinciteam, SETool, WotanServer etc etc, which is via DCU-60 cable...

What an awesome piece of kit Far manager (and the plugin) is!!
I have finally managed to get rid of the Orange branding on my K750i. It wasn't too imposing (not like Vodacrap) but I wanted the freedom to decide.
I was wondering if anyone has explored removing sim locks? When the guys down the market do it for a fiver it only takes a few minutes. Could they be using something similar to this, or is it deeper?
I'm not too worried as I'll be giving the 750 to my dad when my shiny new K800 arrives!!!
