Here ya go, zomg responded
He can talk all he likes. It's not going to get anywhere. The idea is that Sony spin off the bank, bring in $15bn and then return that to shareholders and he gets paid.
Part of me says that having the bank and media divisions allows the electronics divisions to slack off (by results Sony's electronic divisions posted a combined operating loss of 180bn yen) and it slows the pace of reform, but I'm quite sure that the glacial pace of Japanese management and reform would still exist at Sony with or without the profitable media and finance divisions. So really it seems like having divisions that consistently post operating profits of 250bn yen buys the electronics division time to reform.
Otherwise one only needs to look at Sharp and Panasonic to see what happens to Japanese companies who have not been able to keep up with the latest trends. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Sony are in better shape than the other major CE companies in Japan. Toshiba are doing the best because they essentially bowed out of the industry in 2009 after the failure of HD DVD, what a great decision that turned out to be for them. Toshiba seemed to see where it was all heading and invested in semi-conductors and infrastructure, and it has worked out very well.
The natural defence for Sony from this is to for them to merge with Toshiba and create a $50bn company in which Loeb will have a difficult time in exerting control. |

Some positive news-
Acc. to the latest reports Sony has straight forward denied selling it's entertainment arm and has quoted that "it's entertainment arm is imp. for Sony's revival and is not meant for sale " |

Now that's interesting. I wonder if one has a benefit over the other due to this difference.
Damnit, I want some new products! ZR isn't of any interest to me. Loved that slider that was leaked, but it's probably still a couple of weeks until we see anything official. E3 is nearly a month away too. Even more time until the new phones get announced.
*sigh*

OT...
but Sharp Loss Widens to $5.36 Billion
TOKYO—After posting an annual net loss of ¥545 billion ($5.4 billion), the biggest in its 100-year history, Sharp Corp. said it plans to replace both its president and chairman after just one year in an unusually public rebuke of former management that underscores the depth of the struggling electronics maker's problems.

You mean it's not triluminos? |

Of course it features Triluminos. Trilluminos is not a panel type, just a filter between panel and backlight |

I thought it doesn't use filters and produces the backlight using some sub atomic strings and every pixel consists of three light emitting units but instead of normal diodes used in CLED it uses QD's. So if it uses filters how is it more energy efficient?

So according to: http://www.hdtvmagazine.com/c[....]ithout-oleds-by-ken-werner.php
Triluminos if used in smartphones is still far behind Samsung's AMOLED displays because of slower response time and less deep black and color gamut and viewing angles doesn't queit catch up with AMOLED. The only advantage Triluminos seems to have is color accuracy.
Few questions.
Will Sony implement both IGZO and Trilominus in the same panel or even with Whitemagic in their mobile panels?
Will Trilominus have brighter whites than AMOLEDs?
Edit: Reading that article I guess it's also more energy efficient because instead of just filtering the other unwanted waves in conventional LCDs it changes the blue light wave length. Do you think I'm right?

Triluminos can be implemented with any panel, IGZO or Whitemagic or any other tech
And no, Triluminos doesn't affect white levels |
