@r0sewhite:
Hi, your e-zones Website is fantastic, know what? It would be nice if you could add the release dates of all of your phones, some history! Or did you already mention it somewhere and I did not notice? Alex |

@bucheral:
If you click on any picture you will find detailled informations about each of them underneath the fullsize-image.
For global knowledge like release dates or so you better ask tigerente. he usually knows everything about ericsson and as long as i can always ask him about details i wouldn't try to keep all this knowledge in my own brain

@bobafett: I hesitate, if I like it's design or not... i'ts black, with a blue front cover, the keypad is all right, it works well, no problems....you tell me I have a phone of 1996? Great! So it's the oldest phone in my possession, not bad! Thanks for your answer! |

The battery seems to be all right, held for the whole day now, will see tomorrow. It came with a box, yes, but this box is in a terrible condition, so... anyway the phone is in a good condition. Please tell me, are there any older Ericsson GSM phones? Which types? |

Yes I did, his GA628 is 99W15, that means 1999 week 15? I thought these models are from 1996? Anyway, how can I know exactly when my model was built? |

they made some models later too. check the fw version, it shows in the older models how old the fw version is.

Not sure about the offical release date but the first GA628 PoS-Informations (Point of Sale) are dated May 97.
This matches with the release dates of the firmware-versions of GA628
GA628 97w29 R2A
GA628 98w07 R3A
GA628 98w45 R4A
GA628 99w03 R4B
GA628 99w15 R5A
The GA628 has been sold in different promotion and operator edition like a James Bond - Tomorrow never dies-Edition with two special keypads and the box had a JamesBond style. Or the german 'Team Telekom'-Edition presented by T-D1, the sponsor of a Tour de France Team, which also had a special keypad and modified box.

Where did you get the 99w15? From the servicemenu ( -> * <- <- * <- * ) or from the IMEI sticker on the back of your phone?
The date-code on the back of your phone is the date (week) of hardware-production. So this is the date when the phone has been build.
If you get the 99w15 from the servicemenu, it only indicates the release date of the firmware of your phone which might have been updated more than once in the last time.
