Thats a bad deal, he is ripping people off. Wait till the phones officically released then see what the pricing is. As someone said it'll probably drop in price after a couple of weeks on the market. Be patient if you can |

This is the K700 thread - not the S700 thread - so what are you on about ?
If you mean the K700 - then yes the 7610 is more technically advanced. And most likely alot more expensive therefore not a direct competitor.
If you mean the S700 - then no - the S700 has a much bigger screen and an 1.3mp camera, but the 7610 does have a symbian 7 platform which gives some other features.
If we talk design - the 7610 doesnt beat anything - just plain ugly - typical nokiadesign with that ridiculous keypad.
If you prefer the 7610 over the S700 - why the interest in cost of the S700 ?
We dont know yet what the S700 will cost once it gets released in q4. |

Thats a silly thing to say, especially on whats primarily a SE forum !
I dont see how its got the S700 beat at all.. it has a Symbian OS ? so what !? So does the P900 !
Have you seen the specimen 1mp photos taken with the 7610 ? they're poor quality compared to the S700's.
EDIT: i forgot, the 7610 only has a 65k screen, compared to the S700's 262k screen..

@axe_akshay
And you can't compare the two phones. They're in different class. And by the way beats S700 in this that it's open OS and you can add programs, but S700 beats in the display and the camera. But if you want the comparement to be on its place P900 beats 7610 no matter that it's 7 months old phone and 7610 isn't on the market yet.I like 7610,but I would newer buy it.Now I have P900 and black T630,with which I'm happy. And I hope that P1000 will beat and the 7700.Before that I have had Nokia 7650 which was realy good.I have had and 7250i too.The new Nokia (S40) menus are better than the old but they can't be compared to these used in SE phones.I am SE fan.I don't want to tell that I will buy only SE phones. If there are better phones,of course I will buy them, but there aren't.Someone told that 6230 is better than K700.It beats only with MMC,but it hasn't got E-mail (I am not sure, but I think so),only 128x128,hasn't got flash light, video res. is 144x96 (not sure),only 3min. voice recording,10m BT (is it 100m in K700.I think so,because in z1010 it's 100m).With one word 6230 is very good phone, but it has some small lapse which makes it worst than the SE phones.

The K700's Bluetooth range is the usual 10m.
The Z1010's was quoted as 100m at Cebit 2003, but at this years Cebit SE said it was now 20m.
What really gets me excited about the new line up of SE phones is the new Bluetooth profile: HID - which allows you to use your phone as a Bluetooth remote control !

The previous generation of SE phones could also do this, but needed 3rd party software installed on windows. Now, this is officially "supported" by SE with the k700

I know, but i could never get it to work with that Christensen software..
Hopefully with SE supporting it this time around it should be hassle free.

I've a few questions that i'm not sure have been covered. Can it use animated gifs as wallpapers?
Is socket support in the java allowing apps like infra red remote control?
Also can some whos tested tell me what current phone the screen is comparable with.

The K700 wont allow animated wallpapers i dont think. Only the more powerful phones like the P900 and S700 would support such a feature. I know the SOS05is does.
Yes, an IR remote app could be made, and the K700's HD TFT screen from most comparisons ive read is much better than the Nokia 6600's - which is a damn fine screen, although not as good as the S700's !
From specimen pictures i have taken with the K700 (i didnt take them, i just have them on my pc !), most average around 70-100kb in memory size.
Heres a good review im sure someone has already posted:

but the e700 can support animated wallpapers. Surely the K700 can do it also.
