The purple color wasn't too pronounced as I first thought it would be.
The lack of 90Hz display hurts a little bit though.

is the 60hz screen the only thing you don't like?

what else are you not happy about?

also - have you tried any screen protectors?

Yes, that's really the only thing I can think of right now.

Using my WF-1000MX3 with the Xperia 1 II is something different compared to my OnePlus 7 Pro.
You can crank up the volume way higher and still they don't sound distorted.

Photos are more compressed with the stock camera app.
Unfortunately for any auto-shooter user, the stock app creates not so appealing photos. Some photos have pretty heavy haze when trying to compensate for backlit scenery.

I did the nano coating on my Xperia 1, not sure if it worked but I don't have scratch a year in. I won't be doing a screen protector.

I do not know about newer devices.
But at least the backlit scene/hdr of Z series is more of DRO than HDR.
It will lift shadows at expense of noise.

My phone does much wprse when HdR is used compared to landscape scene when it is not high contrast situation.

I've seen photo pro samples ppl post on reddit, they look 😍 ...

Hi.

If any of you has contact with someone from any store, please ask how sales are going.
I suspect sales are faster than expected by sony.

Hey - I remember reading about that before. I googled it a bit and seems like the company that pioneered the tech makes a $40 kit for phones now. Which brand did you use? If you haven't had a scratch in a year, it sounds like a worthy option. I think I will still put a case on my phone (JUST IN CASE), but if this nano coating works, then no screen protector for me! From what I read, the nano coating is supposed to protect the phone from scratches and shattering even when it's dropped... but i'd rather just print a little extra protection. for this mega expensive phone!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm definitely going to look into it more.

Guy has mastered the lighting and with that lighting setup any flagship phone camera would deliver here.

Show me other phones. I want to compare. You're talking bullshit without proof. I think this is the best quality a phone could get without looking fake with fake hdr and fake saturated colours like other flagship

if applied correctly, it provides 9H hardness that lasts for up to 2 years with recommended re-application every year (if this company's claims are true).

9H is a whole lot better than 6 or 7 of regular GG.

If this prevents me from having to fiddle with a crappy screen protector, i'll give it a shot. practice on my old phone first. lol.

I will look into it more.. but it is intriguing.

1 month til my xperia 1ii arrives!! can't wait!

I don't see how it will provie 9h hardness.

Mine is arriving tomorrow, but the case and screen protector will arrive next week, so I won't touch unprotected 😅

@xpr - yea. 9H hardness is a pretty lofty claim. but the technology itself does provide more protection than just having the GG by itself. There have been very positive reviews for well known brands who make a nano coating product (like Spigen). The technology is proven. Whether or not the nano coating products widely available to consumers to apply to their phones is as good as the actual technology - don't know.

will be a question of faith I guess haha. which screen protector did you get?
